Train Table Moms Come in
We've had this set up for less than one day and I can already tell it's going to drive me crazy.
We have it in Jack's room thank god - because it's so huge, but I can't take that the tracks move and break apart so easily.
Any tips? A friend mentioned glueing the tracks down? Has anyone done this?

Um, no. It drives me insane, and watch out b/c Abby will probably like to chew the tracks too b/c Maggie does that
But, IMO, I wouldn't glue the tracks down, I think it ruins it, then that is the only set you can ever put on it, KWIM?

Re: Train Table Moms Come in
We did not setup DS' table yet.
I would not glue the tracks down to the table. Maybe I would glue the tracks together. I would not to set the train track as permanent though.
The main reason is that you might want to use the table for other toys later on. I had bought EJ the Geotrax and GeoAir (he will get them for Christmas this year). You might want to use the table too for those car racing tracks. And you will be able to sell this table later on too.

We went through the same thing and it drove me and DH nuts. I did try glueing it down (not with wood glue) and it didn't work. I was kinda glad because he does like to make up his own track configurations.
For us they only came up when DS took them up. We never had a problem if he didn't touch them, even when he was Jack's age.

Re: Train Table Moms Come in
my entire living room floor is a train station right now, left over from last night.
I tried double stick tape for a while...nothing works, it drove me crazy...but he does spend hours building with the tracks.

Diana, which table did you get? We are getting one for Connor for Christmas and are debating where to put it and how to set it all up.

Ours was a hand me down from my BIL. He nailed all the tracks down (ours are wood) At first I thought that wasnt too much fun, but now I realize if it wasnt for that I would be redoing them every 5 minutes!

We have that one too Diana! Jared loves to take the tracks apart and put them on the floor. I'm constantly putting that thing back together again. I have to admit, I threw a lot of little pieces away.

Really? We have that one to and Ours never comes apart! Unless of course DS takes 1 of the pieces out, but that's usually when "Thomas chuffed off the tracks and needs to be rescued"
