Transition from home to daycare
Did anyone have a hard time for this? My DS has been going a couple days a week just to get used to it since May with me. Now I've let him stay for a whole day twice a week without me. Oh boy he's not happy. Won't nap, won't play just cries pretty much nonstop. I need adivce..hugs...anything. Please. I feel so bad for him. He's 10 months.

Re: Transition from home to daycare
That transition is tough whenever it happens!
But, you might be prolonging the pain a bit. Will he eventually be going full time? Or just two full days/week total? Are they consecutive?
My advice is - just do it. Bite the bullet. Let him acclimate. It's going to take up to two weeks. Don't drag it out any longer. I think it took Jake about 2 - 4 days before there was no crying at the drop off. Then at 1 week things were noticeably better. By two weeks, he was fully adapted.
Hang in there!

Re: Transition from home to daycare
Thanks Baby Avocado! I go back to work in September so for me to pay full time when I don't need it wouldn't work for me. I just want the Sept. transition to work out well. I guess I should have mentioned that. But you're right he'll get it eventually. He was all strung out looking when I picked him up from all the crying he did.
