Transitioning to milk soon. Question for those who warmed DC's formula

DS won't touch his bottlw unless it's warmed. Did you warm milk too when you transitioned?

Also talk me through how you transitoned DC to milk. When did you stop using formula completely?

OMG i was literally just making DS's bottles for daycare tomorrow (half milk half formula right now) and i said to myself i need to post who warms the milk. DS throws a bottle at me if its right out of the fridge. He was EBF until 6 months and then we warmed his bottles.

Cant wait to hear the answers. Not sure what to do since im starting to make his bottles in straw sippy cups.

I would only warm it up in the morning, but I just run it under hot water for a few minutes. Over the summer she learned to drink them cold esp if we were out.

I started the transition..one oz per week. By her birthday (first week in November) she will be on milk.

Sounds exactly like Mason. He only would drink it slightly warm or room temp. Too cold or too hot he won't touch it.

When we got the ok at his 1 yr checkup we slowly transitioned. 2oz milk and 4oz formula. We still warmed it, but to room temp (we have the hot water tap on our sink so it's the bes thing ever).
Then after a couple of days it was 4oz milk and 2 oz formula and then all milk. Still warm up the milk, but wasn't warming it as much. If we were out he had to have it cold so he'd only drink some.
Now I just slightly warm up his milk at night. He's 16 months. The morning bottle is still cold and sometimes he takes it and other times I have to warm it. During the day he has cold water and sometimes cold milk

We transitioned one bottle at a time. I never mixed formula and milk. We had to heat the bottles of milk that is the only way he will drink it. If it was cold he would hand it back. I'm going to try and get ds#2 to drink cold milk from the beginning.

Re: Transitioning to milk soon. Question for those who warmed DC's formula

Haven't started transitioning to milk but will start this weekend as DS turned 1 2 weeks ago. I plan on replacing 1 oz of formula with milk every 4-5 days. He has 8 oz bottles so this will take a while. I did it this way (even more gradually, by 1/2 oz) when i transitioned from Alimentum to Similac Advance and had no problems.

DS will spit out his formula if its cold. Over time i got him used to drinking it either warm or room temp but not cold. He loves cold water though. I'm not taking the bottle away yet by choice so i'll just keep putting the bottles in the bottle warmer. Who wants cold milk in the winter anyway? If you use a sippy you could always just put it in some hold water for a few minutes.

I've been giving it to DS cool, not cold and he doesn's seem to mind.

i warmed bottles/milk. DS is now 3 & wont drink cold mild, other DS is 19 months and drinks anything.
i guess it depends on the kid.

Thanks!

So to be clear, and this is a stupid question, milk will be replacing all of his bottles? He takes 4 6-8oz bottles per day.
