Transitioning from powder formula to milk?
We will be embarking on this adventure next week with DS & I am a bit confused. I know I should replace 1oz of formula with milk but do I still mix the same amount of powder as I normally would (ex: 6oz bottle = 3 scoops)
We are hoping to have DS almost completely on milk before baby #2 comes...I really don't want to transition him when the new baby comes home, too many changes at once.

I never mixed them or slowly transitioned my DD over. I finished off the last can of formula and then went straight to 100% milk. You don't need to do a gradual switch, it's not really necessary. My DD had no issues at all going cold turkey.

Re: Transitioning from powder formula to milk?
We transitioned one bottle at a time, but never mixed formula and milk (our ped. is against that), so one bottle replaced w/ milk for a few days, then a second, then a third, etc. DS had no problems whatsoever.

Re: Transitioning from powder formula to milk?
I guess I am nervous since DS is on a lactose free formula (similac sensitive)..He has showed no signs of issues with dairy though....

DD was on Similac Sensitive and we switched her cold turkey to whole milk with absolutely no problems. Her Ped said there was no reason to "transition" her, so we didn't. HTH.

I did the same thing with both of my DC.

Thanks! I will try this next weekend to see how it works. I hope we have no issues
