Transitioning to the crib for bed... when did you do it?

Gianna is 5 weeks old, and she sleeps in the basinette at night in our bedroom. She wakes now every 3 hours to eat, and it's just easier on me to have her in there.

I'm not sure when I should start transitioning Gianna into her crib for the night... any experience or suggestions on this topic would be greatly appreciated!!! I *think* I've heard that 3 mos is a good time because babies sleep for longer periods of time between feedings when they reach 12lbs...

I started putting mine in their cribs around 8 weeks at night. They still nap in their swings. Mine are 12 weeks today and are still waking to eat-though last night they slept from 1AM-7AM.

We transitioned DS when he was a little under 4 months old.

As for the 12lb, I think that is pretty arbitrarty. My DS didn't sleep through the night til he was 1

I'm not sure. We actually just got the crib delivered today, but DD is only 2 weeks old so I'm not ready to have her sleep at night in the crib. I may start putting her down to nap in the crib though during the day to just get her used to the crib. I am planning on transitioning her to the crib at night around 8 weeks old.

Right now at night she's waking up every 1.5 hours to eat.

DD was in our room for 5 months. She started sleeping through the night at 3 months....but it was more for me...i wasn't ready to have her in her own room.

I guess it would also matter that Gianna is the proper weight for her basinette... Meaning, she technically can't stay in our room after she hits the 30lbs mark because she'll be too big for the bassinette...

I'm going to slowly start putting her in for one nap at a time during the day. As a pp said, I think her being in our room at this point is more for my own sanity.

DS-12 weeks because he hated the crib up until that age.

DD- 2 weeks

I moved my DD to her crib @ 2 months.
