Traveling with 8 month old- some questions about car seat and beach
DH, DS and I will be going down to our summer home in SC in a few weeks. We have a car down there so we were planning on buying a car seat for that car, however we need to get in a cab to and from the airport.
Do you suggest we bring our car seat with us and not buy one to keep down the? Is there an easy way to travel with a car seat?
We plan on spending time on the beach if it's nice. What are some things I should get/bring for DS?
Thank you!!

Cosco scenera is one of my fav travel seats. lightweight, easy to use and install and uncer $50
However, since you travel down there every summer, you may want to invest in a better seat. Do you have a budget?
Sunshine Kids Radian is also good for travel, it folds flat, has a strap on it for carrying (but it's anything but light) and installs relatively easily.
Both seats are also approved for airline use.
ETA: Or you could just bring your seat with you

Will your DC still fit in the infant carrier? If so I would bring it with you and buy a seat down there to keep in the car. As fir the beach, a small sun tent is always good to have.

Thanks! I will look into both car seats. Have you used one of those adapters that makes the convertible car seat like a stroller?

He does fit in the carrier right now but will most likely be out of it by this summer.
