Treatment for Graves' disease
In January I was diagnosed and have been taking a beta blocker and methimazole. My endo and obgyn said I cannot become pregant on the methimazole and have to wait another year to have the iodine treatment ( something like that) and than 6 months after that i can try. By this time I will be almost 45 and it will be too late. The endo said there are no other medicines to take. Has anyone else been through this and what was your treatment.

I did this in my mid 20's. I'm now 37. And back then, this was the standard treatment as well. But I was on the meds longer because I wasn't even thinking about kids then.
I would go speak to a reproductive endocrinologist to see if you have any options before the Radiation treatment. Maybe freeze some eggs? And even to see where you are fertility wise as well.
If you have any questions about the meds and the Radioactive Iodine, etc, don't hesitate to ask
Best of luck!
