Triple birth weight by a year?

Did your child? I know every baby is different, but we went for a dr. appt. yesterday, DD is 11 months and weighs 19 lbs 13 oz. She was born at 7 lbs 8 oz. so she's still got 2 pounds to go in a month to triple. She hates food still, it's a struggle every day, so I wish she would eat more!

Again, I'm not stressing, just wondering. I didn't discuss it with the doctor yesterday because we were there for something else, not a well visit.

my boys were 5 lbs 4 oz each born 35 weeks.. at 1 yr they were a lil over 20 lbs....

My Eldest didnt..she was 8lbs at birth and she weighed 20lbs at 12 months..

My Twins went over..they were 5lbs at birth and weighed 17lbs at 12 months..

DS is 9 months and he has already tripled his birth weight and then some..he was 7lbs 11oz at birth and at his 9 month appointment he was 25lbs..

Jacob was 7ibs 6oz at birth and at 1 year he was 20 punds

I think it's true in our case.

Jack was 9lbs 14ozs.

At 9 months he was 25lbs.

I think at 11 months he is about 28lbs (feels like 50 though )

Chris was 6 lbs 13 oz at birth
we have his 1st year visit tomorrow but I know from his last visit that he is at least over 21 lbs

DS was 7Lbs 13 oz
at 9.5 months he was 22 Lbs 6 oz

So I think that's accurate for us.

He packed on pounds during the 1st six month (very common for BF babies) and now he is leaning a bit.

Not quite.

He was 8 pound 9 ounces at birth and almost 22 pounds at 1 year.

He went from 90% to 60%. But he's REALLY active, so the doctor wasn't concerned.

DS did- he was 7 lbs at birth and at his 10 month visit last month he was 22 lbs. We go today for his 11 month well baby visit and i am curious to see how much he weighs

Thomas was 6 pounds 9 ounces and at his 1 year appointment he was 19 pounds 5 ounces.

I think when they say tripling their birth weight they are talking about babies who are more average to small at birth - like say 6-7 lbs. I would hope or I would have had an almost 30 lb 1 year old.

DD was 9 lbs 4 ozs birth - in the upper 90% and 20 inches.

Now last week at her 11 month visit she was 19 lbs 10 ozs and 28 3/8 inches - the ped said she is 50% for weight and height.

My ped is not concerned she is thriving and is growing - even thought she has slowed down.

I don't think it's a good guide, b/c birthweights are so varied and depend on other factors, like preterm.

Both my kids were 10+ and #1 ended up about 25ish lbs at 1, but #2 is closing in on 30 (which is too much, but still isn't even close to triple his weight - 31-8oz)

Logan was born at 8.9 and at his 10 month visit he was 23.3. So he has 3.4 more to go. I think he might make it. Everyday lately he feels heavier and heavier

I think each child eats and grows at its own pace and I think that as long as the child is not losing weight it should be ok, unless the ped is concerned.

DS was 7.2 lbs at birth and at his 6.5 month visit he was almost 23 lbs Looks like he'll be 25/27 lbs. at 12 months My poor back can't wait until he starts walking!

Michael did not triple his weight, he barely doubled it when he was one. He was born at 8 lbs 15 ozs and at his one year checkup he weighted 18 lbs 14 ozs.

Addy was 9 lbs when she was born, at 15 months she still only weighs 21 lbs 14 oz...... my other 2 had tripled by a year (or close to it)

I think it also depends on their metabolism and activity.
my sil breast fed for a year and my niece is in the 3rd precentile and her mom and dad are 6 feet as well as everyone practically on my SIL's side.
Every child is diff...I dk if its necessarily a breast fed thing...and matter of fact..I know of another situation as well like that...

I think it's really just an estimate. Marron was 8lbs 1oz at birth and was nowhere near 24lbs at a year -- I think she was only about 18lbs. In fact, now at 2, she is only just over 25lbs. The doc never mentioned it being a problem.

Kaitee weighed 8 lbs 7 ozs at birth. At her 1 year check up she weighed 22 lbs 3 ozs.

dd was 9.8 at birth so triple that would be 28.8lbs, she was 25 at 12 months
