At her current weight her BMI is 21.2 - Healthy but on the thin side
At her crazy "goal" weight her BMI would be 19.4 - which is still a healthy weight but very close to being underweight.
That's not very close to being underweight - below 18.5 is underweight and even that has to be taken with a grain of salt depending on the body type.
I just don't get where people get off judging her for wanting to be what she was - whether that's 106, 116 or 166. Who are we to say that she should be happy at a 4?? Someone who's a 16 might scoff at the woman complaining that she's an 8 and so on and so forth.
I get the point of people possibly taking offense to her feeling unattractive at 116 but honestly, that's the problem of the offended, not her. She's not saying "anyone at 116 is fat and disgusting," she's saying she does not feel attractive at that weight. People project their issues on others and others issues on themselves - and that's nobody's problem but the person doing it IMO.

DOLT!!!!! I love that word. And yes, I agree - I actually had typed out, and then erased, there are plenty of reasons to hate this girl, I just don't see this as one of them

Re: Trista: I Want To Fit Into My Skinny Jeans
I think everyone has their own comfort zone when it comes to weight. I would not be comfortable being 116lbs either. I am only 5'2 and my comfort weight is not more than 112 lbs.
The thing is when you are used to looking a certain way, it is very hard to come to terms with your new self after pregnancy and childbirth, even if the way you look post pregnancy is only temporary.
It is her first child so of course she is rushing things a little bit by wanting to shed it all off in 3 months. It doesn't work that way! NO siree!
She is by far not an intellectual role model and frankly I find her extremely annoying but on this one I do feel for her.

Wow, I don't think it's such a big deal to want to be back to your prepregnancy body 3 months postpartum .
The article says she wants to 'surpass her prepregnancy physique', not just get back to her prepregnancy body.
I understand post partum body issues better than anyone, but I do not feel bad for this woman.
I kind of agree with Eileen here. Just because she is 116 and wants to surpass her prepregnancy weight doesn't make her a bad person. I want that too.
If she was originally a size 12 and said she feels fat at 116 then I would have a problem with that, but she wants to get back to herself or better, nothing wrong wth that. Isn't that what we all want, no matter the size?
Am I green? Hell yeah! Is a whole article dedicated to it a little vain? Certainly, but so am I....

Re: Trista: I Want To Fit Into My Skinny Jeans
let's do the math
she is 116 and wants to LOSe 30 LBS more
making her weight 86LB- not 106lb - that's only 10 lbs more- and 106 at 5'2 is fine- and in the healthy range
but 86lbs- which was the same approx weight everyone calls Nicole Richie "unhealthy"
I am also 5"2- when I about close to 116- I am pretty skinny also too skinny for my DH

Let's not make her completely anorexic now! She gained a TOTAL of 30lbs during her pregnancy and wants to lose the remainder of those 30lbs which since she is 116lbs she has 10 more to go.

There is nothing worse than not liking how you feel in your own skin whether you are heavy or thin or just perceived that way. I really dont give a rats arse how much or how little she weighs. She isn't happy and she's doing something about it. Shes not endangering herself.

ITA. It's all about how you feel in your own body, regardless if the rest of the world thinks that you are too small or too big. I think she looked great pre-pregnancy and hope she reaches her goal. I am 5'3" and the weight I feel the most comfortable and free is 110 lbs. And I totally intend to be that weight once I have my twins. ALL my friends and family that have had babies ALL look great - some even better than before their babies. So I know it can be done in a healthy manor. I think the finger wagging comment was a little ridiculous, but hey, if it works in her home, then who am I to judge.

But I know that I will be very disappointed in myself if at that point I can't fit back into my normal clothing.
.
I go by the rule "9 months to put the weight on, 9 months to take it off"
3 months is not long AT ALL

Re: Trista: I Want To Fit Into My Skinny Jeans
I just find it really annoying that weight is talked about so much in these magazines.... I usually just skip over these articles. I've had enough issues with eating and weight to last a lifetime and now that I am in a place where weight isn't an obsession for me anymore I definately could care less about obsessing over celebrities weight issues

Good question!
She almost died having this baby. I would have expected these early interviews to be about regaining her health, not getting skinnier than she already is.
And if my DH shook his finger at me and said "uh uh" when I wanted to eat something, he'd be minus a finger. Her idea of supportive is a bit warped, IMO.

Does Ryan help? If I eat something that I shouldn’t, Ryan shakes his finger at me and says, ‘Uh, uh, uh!’
If my DH did that to me, the "uh, uh, uh", would be quickly followed by an "Ow! Ow! Ow!"
I totally agree.
that whole article makes me want to punch her in the throat

Re: Trista: I Want To Fit Into My Skinny Jeans
I think she's missing the fact that your body changes so dramatically when you are pregnant. that even after you have given birth, you could be back to your pre-pg weight, but its proportioned differently.
so even if she does lose the weight, she may not fit into her skinny jeans.
does that make sense?

Re: Trista: I Want To Fit Into My Skinny Jeans
If she hadn't mentioned her #'s in the article (size and weight wise) and just focused on the generic fact she wants to lose her baby weight, like most women, it would have been much less controversial. I have always kinda liked her, all the way back to her runner-up on the bachelor days. I like her attitude and style. The only thing that ever bothered me was her high-pitched, somewhat babyish voice.

Re: Trista: I Want To Fit Into My Skinny Jeans
I read the article in US magazine..and I actually give her credit for admitting that she is struggling with losing the baby weight.. Celebrities(granted she isn't really a celebrity), but usually they act like it is nothing to take off the baby weight. She described how she hates her stomach..and doesn't feel sexy around her hubby. Sure I am jealous and would love even to be 116 lbs..but I think it is great of her to share her struggle and she also describes her weight loss plan.

Re: Trista: I Want To Fit Into My Skinny Jeans
You know what? 10 pounds to lose at 3 months post partum being already teeny tiny and whining about it makes me want to vomit.
Yes everyone has a certain goal...and yes i'm sure she doesn't love that she *gasp* has a little belly flab...good lord, who DOESN'T after having a child??
I just wish women would accept the fact that their bodies just did this incredible thing....and that your body changes and with work, yes, it can go back.
I don't need to read about Trista being sad over her 10 pounds. And her husband shaking the finger at her. If my husband EVER did that to me his fingers would be broken.
