True Blood questions *spoiler*

Ok, so what are the vampire rules again? In order to become a vampire one must have all the blood drained and then replaced with vampire blood? This would mean that Bill could suck some of Sookie's blood and Sookie will not become a vampire, right? Also, drinking some vampire blood will just give you a taste of some vampire traits and give you a high.

I love this show! The last two episodes have been so good!

Re: True Blood questions *spoiler*

i think whats supposed to happen is that the person a vampire bites--most of their blood is gone an they are pretty much dying--and then they must drink vampire blood of the one who bit them to survive. that's what it looked like when they showed Bill last week being turned.

and omg--i can't believe they FINALLY got together !!! Chat Icon

I just thought of another question! When Sookie drank Bill's blood after she was beaten up, she took on some vampire traits for a little while. However, when Jason drank the small vial of vampire blood, he was messed up to say the least. Chat Icon

Actually, that's off a little.
When Sookie drank Bill's blood she had lost a lot of blood herself, so some replaced what she had lost, some helped her to repair more quickly - but her senses were much more heightened...remember her smelling the little crumb under the chair?
When Jason drank the whole vial of blood it went straight to his junk...but when he did a little, his senses were totally heightened also...but he is a moron so it's not going to play out the same way as it did with Sookie.

BTW, love this show!!!

If Bill has such heightened senses that he heard Sookie's come home, why didnt he hear the grandmother being murdered?

I also don't think the vampires are murdering anyone (the desanguinated theory made sense), but I think it's the red-headed waitress who despises vampires.

If vampires can't enter a home without being invited, how did Bill get into the home after Sookie discovered her dead grandma?

Is it a standing invitation since she invited him in before?

I thought maybe Sam killed those women and Sookie's Gran because they associated with vampires.

Or that he might be a werewolf, but that was just too much weirdness too early in the plot.

It's a series of 8 books by Charliane Harris - the first one is called Dead Until Dark.

Books on Amazon

They are really awesome. I'm on book 8 (we've been reading them for a while - before we knew it was becoming a series).

But if you don't want to spoil the TV show for yourself you may not want to read them.

It sounds like they are only about mid-way through book 1 on the series given some of the things you guys don't know yet.

After Sookie drank his blood after being beat up and she asked him what the side effects were he said he would always be connected to her and be able to find her very easily if she ever needed his help.

I think it is Sam, something about him rubs me the wrong way.

Something is definitely strange about Sam, especially when he was sniffing the sheets of the waitress who died. And something is definitely up with Sam's dog. It is always around watching but this week it was standing next to Bill. Not sure what to make of the dog.

I love this show.

I think Sam and the dog are one in the same.

Bill told Sookie that they would be connected, he wasn't connected to the grandmother. That is what I got out of it anyway.

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

I'm not sure about this cuz there was the one scene at Sams' trailer where he was sitting on the steps and the dog showed up looking for Sam to play ball with him. Chat Icon

Both DH and my sister think Sam is a werewolf

Maybe he's a vampire hunter?

I don't think it was addressed (in the show or book) but I think that in general vampire lore, Vampires can enter a house after the owner has died.

I read the first one a while ago, and I am re-reading now, to see how they changed it for the show & yes, it is about mid-way through the 1st book. There have been 6 episodes. You can read synopses on HBO's True Blood page
