TSA regulations

UGH..it’s so frustrating. We're leaving for TX tomorrow.
I really only wanted to bring a carry on for this trip but w/all the regulations now it’s almost impossible! No gels, no aerosol cans, nothing more than 3 oz and can't be more than what will fit in a qt size bag….it’s annoying. BUT one good thing, if you’re wearing a gel filled bra you don’t have to take it off, you’re allowed to wear it on the plane…LOL!!!

Thanks for letting me vent just needed to get that out.

I surrender. We'll check our bagChat Icon

That stinks. I feel like the regulation is so arbitrary. Someone can pack a quart size bag of 3oz bottles of rubbing alcohol and set their seat on fire with matches that are not restricted, but but a bottle of shampoo is a no go.

Is there any way you can just get what you need in TX?

Re: TSA regulations

Their regulations are constantly changing. It's so hard to keep up with it. The rule used to be that any shoe with a one inch heal or greater needed to be taken off. Well I made sure the shoes I had on were under 1 inch. I had flip flops on. I cant see my feet and cant bend over so I wanted something I could just walk right through and not have to worry. They made me take my shoes off. My DH had to bend over and pick up my shoes and had to place them on the floor and help me to slip my feet in them.

And what ticks me off a little more is they allow lighters on the plane. I saw a guy who was traveling with a few other people and he had a lighter. Well lets just say I had some scary thoughts running through my head and scary scenarios that can be played out if that guy and his buddies were to harm travelers.

I am waiting for the story of TSA made someone take off their shoes, walk on the floor barefoot and that person got some serious illness and is now suing TSA.

My final thoughts on TSA is they are reactive instead of proactive.

OK sorry for the soap box rant but DH worked for TSA for 5 years and it was nothing but constant misery. What was enforced in one airport was not enforced in another. The airline has one rule and TSA has another rule which makes travelers very fustrated because bottom line is/was TSA can stop you from getting on your plane.

SO funny you said that about the matches/alcohol...I said the exact same thing to someone at work!

I'm going to talk to DH tonight about limiting some of his beauty products Chat Icon

Re: TSA regulations

You are definately not alone.

One day their is going to be the story of the naked traveler because between the airlines fees for baggage and the limitations of what you can take with you on board, their is someone out there who is just going to go to the airport with their ID and a smile on their face Chat Icon

I was actually thinking the opposite with the luggage surcharges. I am hoping to hear a story about someone that wears ALL their clothes like Joey on that episode in friends.
