TSH levels

I am 6 weeks pregnant and got prego with IVF. My RE checked my levels before I started IVF. Yesterday, I went for my first sono and everything looked good. They also checked my Thyroid levels. My RE called me before and scared the hell out of me saying my TSH should be 2.5 and mine is 14.2. He told me to call my endocrologist and make an appointment for tomorrow. I am now so nervous. Has this happened to anyone? My levels were fine before IVF.

TSH levels

Same thing happened to me after my iui that got me pregnant. It wasn't as high, I think it was 9 something, my RE put me on synthroid to regulate my tsh. He retested me after 4 weeks and I was back in a normal range and have been on synthroid since. I am currently 39 weeks and waiting for this boy to arrive. Good luck!

Re: TSH levels

Difficult to get an accurate reading on TSH during the first trimester of pregnancy - it is affected by other hormone levels. Your endocrinologist should be able to interpret the results. It's likely not as bad as it sounds but may require some adjustment. Good luck!

Re: TSH levels

Went to my doctor today and he seemed concerned that my level was so high. He took another blood test today said maybe there was an error in the labs from the other day when my RE took it. He said there is a chance I can have a miscarriage with levels that high. Now I am a nervous wreck. Waiting for my result tomorrow and he will adjust my meds.
