TTC for about 5.5 months..
.. and I have a regular gyno appt scheduled for april. Do you need a separate appt to talk to your doctor about ttc, or can i talk about this at my appt? I haven't gotten any genetic testing done or any of those other things that some of my friends did prior to conceiving, so I wasn't sure if maybe I should be doing this. If I am not pregnant by the time I have the appt, I will have been trying for 7-8 months.
my dh and I have just kinda been winging it for the last few months and not taking it too too seriously, but we are definitely trying. I have never had a convo with my gyno about ttc at all, so i definitely think this would be the time to start having a serious convo about it..

Hi! Yes you can totally talk to the gyno about TTCing. They might be able to give you better advice and answer questions you have. They just usually don't do any testing until you have been TTCing for at least a year. But you are free to ask your questions. Good luck!

do you mean genetic testing for conditions you may have the would affect the baby? or testing for complications you may have for ttc?
either way, i would def make an appointment to talk about ttc..are you taking prenatals yet?

Yes, absolutely though they generally won't test till you've been trying for a year or 6 months if over 35 unless you have a specific issue. I've had weird periods since coming off the pill 6 months ago (we only tried for the last 3 months) so I'm going for an ultrasound next week and from there will get bloodwork.....but I presented it as "my periods are weird and I want them fixed," though my doc did agree that it's unlikely I'd get pregnant with the crazy periods. So, if your cycles are super long or irregular, etc you might be able to address things a little sooner.
What kind of tests did your friends get done? I've never really heard of testing before ttc unless there were issues.
