Besides that my doctor won't do a mirena, he said he doesn't like them and is a big pusher of the pill
I would find a new doctor...is is not HIS choice, it is yours
I have to agree. I am 29, after we have a second I plan to get an IUD but not Mirena (that has hormones), I want Paraguard, it's cooper and lasts 10years, it can be removed if you decide to have more. I know people with it and they like it alot. For us personally I can't see making it so permanent at a young age but that's JMHO. Good luck in your decision! Oh yeah and as far as depo shot I know people who had it and HATED it!

More importantly, if I was younger and able to bear kids I would not do it. You just never know what the future may bring.

You guys are only 26 and your DC are so young too. I know you're done but things happen - I don't think I'd want to create a permanent situation so young.
If I were to do 1, it would be a vasectomy since it is most often reversible. The only way I'd consider a tubal is if it would physically endanger my life to be pregnant again. JMO.

A vasectomy for sure. I birthed these babies, now it's his turn when we're done.

Re: Tubal vs Vasectomy
Not a mom, but here's some info on us.....
Joe was married before to "the love of his life" ( I say that loosly since she is his ex-wife ) and while he may have wanted kids she KNEW she would be a terrible mother and refused to have any kids. They researched both options and not only was the vasectomy quicker, easier on the body, and had NO fatalities it was FREE with their insurance. So at 26 he did it and 4 yrs later she had an affair and left him. We got together and about 2 months later she had an abortion because her boyfriend wasn't snipped. Last Jan Joe had a reversal and in October we got pregnant. We had a m/c in Nov and are now tryig again. I tell you this because A you NEVER know what will happen. I am not suggesting you will divorce, but then again Joe didn't think he would either, and B you are so young. Right now it's not in the future but you really never know. I took Depo for 4 yrs and while it's not the greatest it worked. I would look into an IUD also and if your doc won't I would switch. I can tell you wanting to have a family and having to wait to save for a reversal, recovery, and to get the boys "moving" again is a long process....in all about a year. I would just hate to see you change your mind later and regret it, but if you are set on this and it's what's best for YOU AND DH then I say Vasectomy. Much cheaper and easier to reverse IF you change your mind

Why not get an IUD? it's not permanent and it's not that invasive. Personally I would never want to do something permanent to either my husband or myself.

Re: Tubal vs Vasectomy
I will be getting my tubes tied 6 weeks after this baby is born. i never even thought to ask DH to get a V, only b/c i know that i dont want any more children. I am young (27) and this is my 3rd child. I anticipate that DH and I will be together forever, but if something happened to our relationship, i know that i still dont want any more children. i have a boy and a girl now, so i wont be missing out on not having one or the other. DH and i work so hard to stay afloat right now, we had our fist when we were teenagers, so as much as we love every stage with each of our children, we look foward to our future when our children are older and we can reconnect as husband and wife and do things for us. So as much as im dreading the actual procedure, having a 19 month old, a 6 wk old, and an 8 year old- i know ill heal quickly and be satisfied with the outcome.

Only because you are 26, I would push the vascetomy or find an alternative. I know you said you are done, but so many things could change in your lives.
You may decide down the road that you want more, or god forbid something happens to one of your dc's - you may decide you want another. I don't think it's a decision that can be made so far in advance especially when you have so many fertile years in front of you. I agree, I think you are too young for a tubal, that is just my honest opinion
you NEVER know what the future holds for you
