Tummy Time
What do you ladies suggest doing if your child does not like tummy time? He does move his head and lift when he is on us, and sometimes 'i use the boppy, but 'I dont think this is enough. But he really hates regular tummy time.....

Re: Tummy Time
my dd hated tummy time. she would scream everytime I put her on her stomach.
to get some tummy time in to build neck control, we started laying down and having her lay on my stomach/chest. That worked for about 2 mths or so.
After that point, tummy time didn't exist.
it took her longer to roll over, but the dr wasn't worried about it.

Re: Tummy Time
DS isn't crazy about tummy time. Most of the time I lay him on my chest and he will pick up his head to look at me. i dont do it everyday although I should but he seems to be developing his neck and head muscles on target.

Re: Tummy Time
My DD hated tummy time until this week (3 months today!!). I swear she would lay there perfectly still like a little diva... then all of a sudden, yesterday, she did about 10 push-ups in a row She just didn't want to do it until SHE wanted to do it.

Re: Tummy Time
A lot of babies hate tummy time. The best thing to do is just leave them there for a minute, then the next day a minute and a half, etc. Just gradually, and I mean gradually, increase it. Also, try laying DC out on a colorful towel or blanket. That always worked for Ava.

Re: Tummy Time
I agree with Rachel, I'll have DD lay there for about a minute or so and I'm finding that she is going longer before she starts crying. I also try to hold her on my chest whenever I hold her.

Re: Tummy Time
Taylor absolutely hates tummy time with a passion! I put her on the Boppy Tummy Time Play Pad, she will last about 10 minutes and then she loudly lets me know she has had enough!!!

Same exact thing happened with my DD. She didn't roll front to back until 6 months and back to front until 8 months. Oh well....things are taking a little more time.

Re: Tummy Time
I combined tummy time with airing out his hiney time. from that point on, no complaints. I would just lay down a cloth diaper under him.
here is an example pic
