turning your wedding dress into a christening gown? need recs please!
i'm really thinking of turning my wedding dress into DD's christening gown.
can anyone recommend someone to do this? and how much does it cost?
how do you go about designing it? i have no creativity and have no idea how i'd like it to look!

Hey Carol, I did that. A girl's mom on the board did it for me. FM littlejmommy (not sure if that is the exact spelling). I just went through ads & picked out 2-3 dresses I liked & she combined them for me. fm me for price...

i did this also.. I used the custom couture dress maker that made my wedding gown..shes in merrick...it did cost alot (between 7-800) but it was worth it imo instead of just throwing my gown away, or keeping it in a box for my dd to say no to when she gets married lol My dressmaker is in Merrick, FM me if you want her info..she is THE BEST.

I had every intention of doing this, but get all sentimental about my dress when I pulled it out and decided not to.

I am probably going to use the material from my train to turn into a jumpsuit for my son, but most likely my MIL is going to do it.
maybe you could check out a Joann Fabric or something like that to see if they have seamstresses in the neighborhood???
