Two year old out running mommy
I am exhausted!!!! How do I get my two year old to understand the word STOP.
DS runs full speed when I ask him to stop/freeze. I try running after him but at 30 weeks pregnant he out runs me. For example we were in the backyard and he picked up the dogs chewing toy. I told him to put it down please and of course he ignored me. The second he saw me coming towards him he takes off running. I try chasing him to grab him and yell stop but he just keeps going until I catch up to him. I am nervous because he has done it to me at the playground as well and he could get hurt.
Any suggestions.

I don't know, but if you get the answer then I'd be thrilled. I'm 29 weeks prego with a 23 month old. Yesterday we were in our backyard full of trees, rocks, mulch, etc... he was all over the place. I kept yelling for him to stop walking on the rocks b/c I didn't want him to fall, which only made him want to do it more. He's also good at ignoring me Usually I look over at DH and give him the look so he knows to go after him

Flip it around on him.. if you go after him, he thinks that it's a game.. so instead walk away from him, tell him to catch you instead..or tell him you are leaving.. (my kids still fall for this one)

He definitely thinks its a game because he laughs as he is running away from me. I will try this in the backyard and see if he comes to me instead of me going after him. How do I teach him how to physically stop in his tracks when I yell stop.

Tyler is constantly ignoring me, I know he is hearing me but pretends I am not there.
