UGH!!!! Cablevision!
I just finished writing a check for over $123!!!! I am alone here is this an INSANE amount of money to pay for cable & internet every month?  
Verizon's Fios is not available in my area yet and I just called Cablevision to ask about downgrading what we have, which is the silver package. we have a lot of HBO channels and then Starz and Encore. to buy just HBO a la carte would actually cost MORE than what we're paying.
do I NOT have any other options????

we have the triple play plan and pay 120 a month for internet, phone, cable and the DVR box... have you looked into that?

phone (not VoIP), high speed internet & cable is around $99

me too. I think I may dump the phone portion of cablevision. I've been thinking of changing it up. I can get a regular verizon account for less.

or you can get another VoIP service like Vonage

I know....I am angry with them too. We have the 3 services: internet, phone and cable and they just raised our prices. Apparently the introductory period is over. And it is a pretty big increase.

Vonage blows...my inlaws and my parents have it and they hate it. I may just threaten them and see what happens. i did it last year and they lowered the price.

who the heck knows they are constantly raising their prices! I remember paying $89 a few years ago for the same crap I have now!

I love the mthly charge for the remote control!
We just bought a house, so we signed up for the triple play. They say it's just an introductory price, so I guess in a year we'll be ready for a bigger bill...by then - who knows what'll be around.
ETA: We just have the family pkg. Currently in our apt they have the silver pkg - eh...I don't know about you, but there's nothing ever on, so right now I couldn't see the point in spending the extra $20/mth. (but if SFU was still on...hell yeah I'd spend it!)

yea, love the charge for the remote
if I get rid of all the movie channels, it's only a $15 a month savings. not worth it b/c my DH watched a lot of movies. plus the Sopranos starts up again in April.
