ugh! I Am going on an hour and a half of trying to get this kid to nap

She fell asleep during her bottle at 11:30, that is her nap time. When I put her down she woke back up and played in her crib and never fell asleep so now she is extremely overtired. She keeps rolling over and isnt 100% used to falling asleep that way so she cries. I am trying to let her work it out on her belly bc everytime I eventually go in a roll her over, she rolls back onto her belly! I hate hearing her cry. I just rolled her to her back again but still crying

Sorry its long and jumbled but I had to vent!!!!!!

maybe I can just have some hugs?? Chat Icon she is still crying. I went in twice to calm her down.
I wonder if that makes it worse.

I do the method where you can go in after 2 min/5min/10min to calm them down.

my poor girl, sobs and all, i feel so bad

You are living my life right now Chat Icon

Yesterday after work, I spent 2 hours trying to get her to nap. She kept falling asleep while BF and I knew she was EXHAUSTED, she does not nap well when watched by my father....needless to say she kept rolling on her belly, crying then when I would roll her back over she would look at me and as soon as I left the room burst into tears.

I was more exhausted then she was after I finally gave in at 5:15 and pulled her out of the crib!

she is finally asleep!!

She is 6m3w old.

I just started to do this within the past 2 weeks bc I think she is starting to understand now "hmm if i cry, they pick me up" She would be all smiles , then as SOON as her head hit the crib matress she would cry! so we dont pick her up anymore to calm her down from crying. Bit its so hard to listen to her scream. I go in after 2 min , calm her down , then wait 5 min the next time she starts crying.

I wonder if its worse to keep going in??

My DD woulld never nap if I kept going in when she cried. By that age, I would let her cry but that was the only way I could get her to nap. It tough to listen to be gets easier. Now at 25 months, I still have an awesome napper so it was worth it.

hang in there!!!!Chat Icon
