Up every 2 hours at 3mos + a swaddling question....
Oh sweet mother of pete- she was starting to really show signs of sleeping through the night. NOW all of a sudden, the past 3 nights she's up every 2 hours. When I would go in, I'd find she had wiggled herself up against the side of the crib (she has no bumbers in her crib).
Last night at the 3am timeslot I went in and just watched her fussing. She looked like she was trying to roll over. This is how she had wiggled herself around. Considering she's swaddled, it's pretty amusing to watch, just not at 3am (and 1am, and 5am, etc). But I certainly don't want her to succeed while swaddled.
I tried swaddling her with one arm free- that didn't work. Toally unswaddled hasn't been tried yet- but it looks like that's where we're headed.
Mom's who broke the swaddling habit- how bad was it. I guess I should try this weekend before I go back to work- the no sleep thing the past few nights has me half-dead.

I don't have any advice for you as DD needs to be swaddled still, even for naps (at 12 weeks). We tried the 1-arm swaddle a few weeks ago, which is funny to see BTW...it didn't work. She breaks out of the swaddle I'd say 1/2 of the time during the day/night, and has started inching herself around the bassinet too. So I'd love to hear the advice too!
You get some sleep soon!

I just wanted to wish you luck!!! We tried the no swaddle one night, but gave in 1/2 way through because DS was more interested in playing with his feet then sleeping. That would have been fine, but he was playing with his feet and crying all at once.

i'm in the same boat-sort of. DD is 3mths and a few wks prior was sleeping through the night. now at 3 months when i though she would be definitely sleeping through she is also up every hour or two and it's making me nuts! she is still swaddled with the MB and isn't breaking free yet. i wonder if her night waking is due to teething and her losing her binky hope you get some sleep soon! i think i ams going to get the sleep sack by the way once we stop swaddling.

Re: Up every 2 hours at 3mos + a swaddling question....
Bella started to get VERY wiggly at 3 months. She had been swaddled too. She would wiggle herself all over the place. I'd find her in the corner of her co-sleeper. Sometimes I'd watch her throughout the night flopping like a fish out of water!
So, for us, it was the end of swaddling and the beginning of belly sleeping. She took to it immediately and sleeps like a champ.

Re: Up every 2 hours at 3mos + a swaddling question....
DD was swaddled until 2 nights ago. Suddenly she didn't want it anymore.
She slept ok, but not for as long a stretch. Usually she can go from 10pm-9am without waking. The past 2 nights unswaddles she has slept for only 6 hours straight through.
But, she was the one who decided she didn't want to be swaddled anymore.
I say just try it - if she isn't happy, swaddle her again!

Re: Up every 2 hours at 3mos + a swaddling question....
It only took us a few days to break the swaddling habit.....and DS would not sleep at all without it. As long as he is in feety pajamas and we feed him right before bed he seems to be OK to make it through the night.
We started this routine about 5 weeks ago.
