My problem is the Head Teacher in his room is the Director.
Thank you Ang
Perfect...then go straight to her to discuss this.
The hardest part is when they fight you on it or refuse to meet you even half way. You feel powerless and while it's easy to say that you willl pull him out...it's not so easily done. Of course you do it but other places have waiting lists.
You have to realistically sit down and map out your expectations...fight the reasonable one and be prepared to hear them out on the ones that they will find unreasonable. Come across like a partnership...not a do as I say kind of thing. It makes it easier if their true intention is to work with you.

Re: UPDATE - PLEASE SHARE YOUR OPINION: Would you say something at daycare?
Posted by Ang-Rich Like most jobs...for some teachers this is just that - a job - but for others it's a passion. I think it's a shame that we pay so much in tuition yet these teachers make so little.
I say this because you have to know your audience. Sometimes people have a bad day - we're all do - but othertimes people are just unhappy. So you can talk until you are blue in the face but you won't get anywhere. That's how it seemed with the teacher you spoke to about lunch..
Well said.
I would write down a list of topics I wanted to discuss & I'd call the Director.
It's great that you've given him bananas, but what if she's giving him things he hasn't tried? That's your decision, not hers. Having a busy day isn't an acceptable excuse.
Also if it were my daycare, I'd want to know. There are many daycares out there & I wouldn't want an unhappy client.

Re: UPDATE - PLEASE SHARE YOUR OPINION: Would you say something at daycare?
Ok, so I just called and spoke to the director and explained. I said, "I don't want to complain b/c I'm happy when my son is happy, but I have concerns about the reports we get at the end of the day." I went on to explain the food situation, and how his naps/eating never seem accurately marked. She asked who made that comment to me which made me feel bad and I hope I don't have to feel awkward around her now, but what was I supposed to do??
Anyway, the director apologized and said she's straighten it out - well see how things go/change.
Thank you all!
