OMG!!!! That had to be so scary, for both you and the old man!!! I'm glad no one was hurt, but I'm sorry for your troubles today!! 
I know it's hard to take away a grown man's independence, but if his medication is making him that disoriented then he really shouldn't be driving anymore.

Holy Cow I'm so glad you're ok and that he's ok.....I have found that in a situation like this( elderly person involved in something dealing w/an adult no matter what the casue) that the elderly almost expect the other party to deal with it. It's not fair, and you did an amazing job it sounds like.

Wow! Glad everyone is okay. I hope your house makes a speedy recovery!
It's so scary WHO is behind many a wheel of a car these days.
Maybe this will convince his family to take the keys away now before something even worse happens!

I had a car drive into the kitchen of our townhouse a few years ago. It was nuts! Luckily, after the nightmare of getting all the repairs/construction done we were able to see the townhouse for a nice profit due to kitchen upgrades!

Oh my goodness!! That man is lucky you were willing to make all of those calls (of course, you had to in order to get your garage taken care of.) He sounds like he's one of those "entitled ones" who never deals with any of the "messy" stuff. DH & I call them the "special people." Good thing he was not hurt. He certainly should not be driving anymore. Someone could have been seriously hurt. What if there were children playing in your driveway or something??

I can't even imagine how he could have been going up your driveway fast enough to do that much damage.

I can't believe it! Thankfully you are all ok.
Now about the old man...I know he is old, but I don't like the way they are acting at all. His son/kids should be making amends to you, b/c YOU could have gotten killed, your pet, your family member, etc. You were innocent, in your house, he was the one who had the issues, whatever they were.
They should be worried you are going to sue them. After all, he didn't even go to seek medical care, and he damaged your house badly and really shook you up. His family should be doing right by YOU, esp since the man is ok.

Glad to hear no one was injured, but i hope they take that guys license away from him. God forbid he hit someone, by the looks of your garage, someone could have been killed had he hit them.

Glad you are ok. Thankfully you were not injured. It is truly sad that this happened. For a 70 year old man, he had a big and powerful car. Sad thing is that he will probably be right back on the road. A similar situation happened to my dad and the guy had a history of full blown seizures and no insurance. The cops let him go and my dad was screwed. Good luck with the rebuild.
