Update....... Lap surgery for Endo on wednesday
Update:
Thank you for all of your well wishes!
Surgery went well and not surprisingly so, I have Endo. They took a lot of it out. on the 18th I'll see the doctor and get the complete analysis. Then we make plan for my last IVF attempt to start after I heal.
Sooooo.... Next leg in my journey is surgery. I left the RE world and went into the RI world. I've always believed I had endo and the RI's believe it has caused problems getting pregnant.
we shall see what happens on Wednesday.

Lap surgery for Endo on wednesday
Best of luck. Let us know how it goes.
I'm in the RE/ RI world too. I recently found out I have signs of endomertrioma on one of my ovaries. Not sure what this really means yet but thats what my RE said. I've also had some bursting cysts so we shall see how this all plays out.

Good luck, it's not a big test overall.
I had one to see if I had endo. I was convinced I did also. I had ZERO endo. But it was worth finding out for me, to eliminate one possibility.
One more test you can do if you have fibroids is do a MRI of the uterus. Sometimes fibroids can act like endometriosis and cause a problem, an MRI helps determine that.
I had that too and my fibroids did not show signs of being endometriosis like. (adenomyosis)

Just curious, how is the recovery? How much time did you take off work? Lap surgery is the one IF test I haven't done.

Just curious, how is the recovery? How much time did you take off work? Lap surgery is the one IF test I haven't done.
For me this wasn't considered a test so much as the doctor was 95% positive she was going in to remove Endo. I guess sometimes they just go in for a biopsy? Then do surgery later?
I have to say the prep sucked... Bowel prep like you would for a colonoscopy. But I seem to be escaping the gas pains that many people have after the surgery. typically people have pain in their shoulders from trapped gas post survey. My friend told me to use gas-x. Maybe that stopped the pain? I have just a touch of it in my shoulders.... Totally doable and almost non existent.
I'm a little sore in my tummy, but achy. Not sharp pains. They didn't have to do a bikini cut. Just small incisions right below the belly button, and two more incisions down lower on my tummy. One on each side.
I am taking the extra strength ibuprofen bc I figure it makes me sleep, avoids pain and will make recovery faster.
I took off through next Tuesday. I could see going back to my summer teaching job on Monday though.
Eating lots of fiber foods and drinking fluids since constipation often follows this surgery.
If you do the lap test, I wish you an easy recovery!

Oh wow, I didn't realize there was bowel prep as well. I hope you take it easy the next few days and feel better soon!

Did you have any symptoms of endo? How did the Dr know you needed this surgery? Asking because my RE said he sees the start of endometrioma on my ovary.
When can you start IVF again?

She didn't see anything in my ovary when she checked at my consult. But whereas many people woman have silent Endo that gets diagnosed through inability to get pregnant, I had screaming from the mountaintops Endo. Lol.
I was diagnosed with dismennorhea as a young teenager. Horrific periods, heavy bleeding and cramping and constipation/diarrhea every month. Eventually was told to go on the pill to get rid of symptoms . When I got married I went off pill. Horror began again. Did IVF with ex... No pregnancies. Homeopathy helped reduce my menstrual hell, but I just had an early pregnancy loss this spring.l after doing IVF with genetic testing. When I met with the dr I also told her I have discomfort during sex and discomfort during bowel movements when I have my period.
All of this led her (and Dr B. When I did a phone consult with him) to say they were sure I had Endo.
I see her in two weeks to find out if I need one or two months to heal before IVF.

I switched to Kofinas fertility (George kofinas' practice) in Brooklyn. Dr. narine did my surgery. I'm also being supported by my perinatal dr who is Alex Kofinas on garden city.
