Update on my mommy helper idea...come in if you're interested...

Ok, so last week I had posted that I am really interested in doing some volunteer work to help out some of the new moms on here. I feel very strongly about this because I have such a strong support system, and I know that it's essential, and not everyone has that.
This thread is just so I can get an idea of who is interested and in what capacity would you like to participate, ie.,do you need help or do you want to help or both.
So, bear with me as I just get an idea. So many people seem to be up for this, and I want to know what I'm getting into.

So, please give me the following information:

Location:
Do you need help, want help or both?
If you need help, how old are your children and how many do you have?


For location, please just tell me if you fall into the following categories:
Queens, Western Nassau, Eastern Nassau/Western Suffolk, Central Suffolk, Eastern Suffolk.

Please limit it to that information so that I can then see how to go about this. I thought if I took a survey today that it would help get things organized. I'm looking to start this up the last week in June or the first week in July, so I have a few weeks to really think this through.
Anyway, love you guys, and I hope I can get this off the ground! I won't be around at all today, so if you have any questions, FM me and I will get back to you tonight.

I have been vomited on in 8 directions today ALL while answering emails and talking to my team!!!

I would love to help. I am in north east Nassau County. I have a 3 and a 1 year old. But they could come with me if I go help out.

I guess I am in Eastern Nassau.. (Wantagh) and I would be up for both giving and receiving. I am off wed and thurs and can help out when I have no Dr's appointments. My DS is 17 months old.

I'm in Western Suffolk. I have a 3 year old & a 5 year old.

I can help out with:
- free Friday night drop off babysitting
- occasional during the week night babysitting at my home.
- free design for baby announcements/invites (the best way for me to learn Adobe Photoshop is to have projects to do).
- night-time grocery shopping if it's local to my town. I can pick up/drop off if someone needs something.

I need help with:
-the rare occassion when I don't have a friend or relative babysitting

edited to add:
Smoke-free, pet-free , gun-free home

I'm adding in the gun thing because I am slightly freaked out that some of my son's friends know where their dad (cops/hunters) keeps their guns.

I'm in Western Suffolk. I am looking to help and take some help as well. My days off are Sun./Mon. right now but depending what the needs are I can see about evenings depending on the task. Roman would always be in tow or present though if that matters.

I would love to be on the "needing help" side. I work overnights on Wednesdays (8pm-8am) and would love to have someone watch/play with Jenna for a few hours in the afternoon so I could take a quick nap. I am in Farmingville.

I can help and I could always use the help too. My DD is almost 10 months, and I live in central suffolk. I'm usually free all day Tuesday and Thursday.

I would love the some help. I have a newborn, who is colic, and a 2 1/2 year old. I feel bad I just cannot play with my son like I would like to and he would love to. I live in Holbrook.

I am a teacher who would be willing to help. I teach first grade special ed. I do not have any children yet, but I would be willing to help in exchange for some DIY wedding help.


I live in Western Suffolk..willing to travel. Weekend babysitting and/or evenings.

wow....you ladies are all great!!!!

I'm in western nassau. As of right now, we're pretty much covered. I *might* need some help at some point. My dad's in the hospital and my mom watches Jack during the day while I sleep (I work the night shift). For now, she says she can keep watching him and then go over to Winthrop after I get up.....BUT if some kind of emergency arises (ing that it doesn't) I may need some help.

I need help finding a guidance counseling job so I can work normal hours and feel like a human again!!!!

I could probably help out on the weekends. I wish I could offer more help. If the above comes through.....I would definitely be able to.

I also offer counseling services through my private practice. FM for more info.

i live in Coram, and would love to help. I have a 4 moth old and i'm home all day with her. I can help out with babysitting during the day.
