i love children, i don't currently have any right now, still a newlywed. although i do work practically every day i am off thurs afternoons and fridays. i did some mother's helper before in the past and was always with my little cousins when they lived here.

eta: i always like to help out at children's parties, i'm never around the adults when there are children around.

I am one of those people that always feels terrible asking for help, but after my day today just trying to get some supermarket shopping done I really lost it.

My DS is 20 months old and we live in Nassau (Lynbrook) to be more exact.

I am a full-time SAHM for now and I am available to help others out for babysitting, watching...you would just have to drop-off at our place

DH and I would like to have an occassional date without ds to regain our sanity.

My DH works crazy hours during the week so any help is always welcome. Unfortunately we don't travel to Suffolk very often which is a shame b/c so many of you wonderful ladies are from there...

Girls, I'm in the process of coming up with the most logical way to do this, however, I'm also in the midst of moving and finishing out the school year, so please don't think I've forgotten about anyone!

If you're still interested, please, please respond to this thread so I can include you! I'm definitely available for anyone on the east end of LI, plus anywhere else in Suffolk, so I will most likely help those mamas out.

I'd like to categorize you into location, and what you need help with, but like I said, I'm still working on it

Honestly, I would just love the company of another mommy from time to time... I get so lonely sometimes! Thats all the help I need....

ETA - I have a 9 wk old son, and I live in Northport....

I'm in NW Suffolk, have a 17 month old daughter & have been w/o much help (besides my Mom who works F/T) since DD's birth!
I have had no luck finding sitters in my area, so I would be happy to "baby-barter".
I have a mobile spa business, and though it's mostly weekends, the time does come where I need to run a job-related errand, have a meeting, or interview a potential therapist during the week, which is difficult with my DD.
If anyone is from our area that is interested in helping each other out, please let me know!!!

We are in SW suffolk.

I need help, especially with babysitting. I have no family in the area and could always use someone to watch DD even if it is for running errands.

I know I am a new mom, but I would love to help. I have a 5 month old so I don't know how much experience I could bring but I would like to help out as much as I could. Even if it is only for company or an extra hand.

ETA: I also teach and am certified in elementary ed and reading. I could offer my tutoring services as well.

Count me in too! I'm in NW Suffolk and my schedule is somewhat flexible and changes - I am definitely willing to help and may be interested in receiving it too.

I have a 7 1/2 month old DD.

maybe we should all have a get together first, at the park or something with the kids. i have never met anyone on here before and i'm sure we would all like to meet one another before inviting anyone into our homes.

Ok, I can definately help with watching. You can drop off, or depending on where you are, I may be able to come to you (with I probably wouldn't use the help as much, but love the option. As Liza said, the best help I can get is finding a mommy to hang out with!

I live in Maspeth, Queens and DS is almost 7 months. So, anywhere in Queens and some parts of Nassau are OK for me.

I wish I could offer a reciprocal "service", but at this point I'd be more in need of help. I usually have too much "pride" to ask for help, but am realizing that I need to ask and I need breaks.

My lovely DS will be 5 wks on Tuesday. I live in Queens (Ozone Park).

I so wish I could help - but I'm a bit far. I just wanted to say that this is an amazing idea and kudos to all of you for stepping up to help, as well as to those of you who are asking for help - which I know can be very difficult!

I have off on Tuesdays and every other Friday amd would be willing to help anyone from the Smithtown area out to the Riverhead area.
I would be willing to babysit at my house, your house (for like two hours) or even run an errand for someone if they need.

I'd definitely be interested...I work FT but I'm home by 430 most days. My DC will be born around 7/2.

I could watch your kiddos after 430 or run errands and would love to meet up w/ other mommies.
