UPDATE!!!!! Things are looking a little better

UPDATE: They called today with yesterday's bloodwork, and now everything looks good.

Last Friday was =943 (Which means to double Sunday they should of been around 1800)

This Monday results that i just received=2476

Since the #'s should double every 48 hours. That means we are right on track and my numbers will prob be arounf 3,000 and some today. (But no more testing for me) Thanks goodness.

No i am just going to have to wait till we go back for a sonogram on Dec 17th.

I wish my doctor wasn't so pessimistic yesterday.

I was so excited to tell my family during the Holidays. After yesterdays scare we called our parents in hysterics Again. I just want to have my happy moment to share with family and friends. I hope this will be it for us and we can actually have great news to share on our Dec 17th appt.

OLD POST:
Well todays phone call was not that great. The 3rd bloodwork results I took on friday only went up by about 58%.

They like to see them double or atleast go up about 60% or higher.

From the first results to the second they went up by about 89%. So it seems that rate they are going up is decreasing, since now it only went up by 58%

They were concerned it was an ectopic, so they sent me over to the Hospital today. It was not but as for now there was just a sac measuring about 4 1/2- 5 weeks. They took more blood today ...so I should hear how the numbers look tomorrow. Then they have me going back in for another sono in 10 days.

I am just so devastated. I just do not think I could take hearing Bad news again.

The doctor at the Radiology Dept at the Hospital said he does not put that much faith in the numbers b/c there are so many variables...He said we would have a better idea at another sonogram in 10 days. He atleast gave me hope. However, then my Dr called and said there is a rare chance this pregnancy may be viable. So she crushed any hope i had....

I hope the first doctor at the Hospital today was right and that i shouldn't worry yet

Awww I'm so sorry you are going through this right now. Hopefully you will hear about the numbers by tomorrow. You are in my thoughts hon!

Why do doctors do this? Neither of mine did with either pregnancy. They made me come in for blood work one time (with this pregnancy) just to confirm my hcg was elevated but more importantly to check the progesterone. I keep reading stories from girls who keep going for betas and I just dont get it.

At this early stage, anything can happen so definitely dont lose hope. I understand hearing that the #s werent going up as they should is scary; I cried all morning when they told me my progesterone was "a little low" but 8 weeks later (God willing) everything has been OK.

Try to hang in there Whens the next appt?

Edited because I just saw you wrote your next sono is in 10 days. My next one is in 9 so we have each other to drive crazy until then

Honestly those numbers don't mean anything, I freaked out when I heard my numbers at 6 weeks and they weren't to much higher than yours and you said your only 4.5-5 weeks.

Did they tell you your progesterone? I hear that one is a little more important, although I never got mine.

I pray that everything is ok, please keep us updated, and you and your baby bean will be in my prayers

I am so sorry you are going through this I hope the doctor at the hospital was right. In the beginning with my progesterone numbers, they kept telling me it didn't look good at all, but so far everything has been ok. So hopefully he was right that the numbers can be a result of many variables, so maybe we shouldn't read so much in to them. I know the next 10 days are going to be a long wait, but I will be for you!!

My doctor never really took my blood all through my pregnancy. He said that it really doesn't mean anything...that the sono is what counts. He said everyone is so different so the numbers are different with everyone...so please don't lose faith.

So many people say they started with just a sack and went on to a very healthy pregnancy.

you have to try and stay positive, it is early and the doc from the hospital is prob right that you shouldn't worry. hang in there

I'm so glad your new numbes look good. if i were you I'd stay away from the bloodwork. I know it helps to know they double..but seeing them not double could cause unnecessary stress for no reason. Trust the sonogram...try to relax and I'm sure you will get good news in 10 days!

So happy for you, your numbers look great!! It's so hard to be able to just relax and enjoy pregnancy now, but I promise the further you get the less fear you will have!

Thats great. Having your sono on the 17th will allow you plenty of time to share all the happiness with your family at the holidays.
