Vaccine side effects, or lack of side effects
I’ve heard side effects are “good” and it means it’s working.
What happens if you have no side effects?

Side effects mean nothing in terms of The effectiveness of your immune response.

Yeah I think it's just a way of making those of us that had a bad reaction feel better. Like - oh you felt like you were gonna die, but that was just because you're so healthy and the vaccine is doing it's job!

So why do some have severe side effects and some have none?
I’ve never heard of a vaccine causing people to be bedridden until now. They are being told that’s good?! But now it means nothing?
I’m only asking because of the whole placebo talk on the other page. I find it interesting how there is no rhyme or reason why certain people react the way they do. And it’s like no one knows the answer and they just say “oh that’s good if you have side effects” “oh that’s good if you had no side effects”. Which is it?

I’d like to know before I inject this “proven” brand new vaccine into my body and possible getting sicker than if I had this virus. It’s a real question that I’ve never gotten an answer to. Just called selfish bc I question it.

Re: Vaccine side effects, or lack of side effects
Honestly I look at the same as I look at how everyone reacts differently to getting Covid and there is no rhyme or reason to it Some people have no symptoms at all, some are very mild symptoms like a cold some are deathly sick and in the hospital, some die. I really do think it's just different for everyone and we'll never really know why. Just like why some people get cancer, some never get cancer, some survive the same cancer others die from...

Vaccine side effects, or lack of side effects
My husband was in bed for 2 days after his first vaccine and felt crappy for a few more. His second one was only one day. He was told that he probably had Covid at some point but had it mildly. Which makes sense since he's a first responder but odd at the same time as I didn't have many side effects at all (just tired and my head was a little fuzzy) and since he wasn't isolated, you would have thought we would've all had it.
ETA - There is something though - not about the vaccine but about the illness, that causes some people to get it worse than others (besides underlying conditions), which I think leads to the differing in side effects.

I had a doctor tell me it was good that I had severe side effects. She's no expert on vaccines but she is a doctor who was on the very frontlines during Covid. I didn't ask her why I got so lucky to be sick as a dog.
I had a much worse reaction to the vaccine than I did to covid. But I just feel like this is how my body reacts to medications/drugs. I can take one puff of a joint and be as high as a kite (which is why I haven't smoked pot in 27 years!) and i can take one advil and it will get rid of the worst migraine

That’s what scares me, do I gamble and see if I have severe side effects to the virus or vaccine? Too many unknowns about the virus AND vaccine

Exactly ITA with you. The after effects of both Covid and the vaccine that I have heard and have seen are quite scary to me. I also have a choice to get the vaccine as I might not have the choice to get Covid so why would I take that chance ?

"Side effects" from the vaccine is your own body's reaction. Every person is different, and every reaction is different. If you've had Covid before, your reaction to the vaccine will be worse, since your body knows how to fight it. That's why the 2nd shot has worse reactions. Younger people, with stronger immune systems seems to have worse reactions, since they are better at fighting the virus.
For anyone that was symptomatic with Covid, I personally haven't heard of the symptoms going away after a day or two. With the vaccine, the symptoms almost always go away quickly. I haven't read of anyone losing their sense of smell or taste with the vaccine, but many people do with the virus. The virus is documented to cause physical damage to various organs in some people. The vaccine has not shown any evidence of that. The virus is documented to cause fatigue for weeks or months after getting it. Side effects from the vaccine are well known and documented. Side effects from the virus are not as well known, more varied, potentially much worse, and for much longer periods of time.

Just an FYI, there are places on FB and IG for people to put up their experiences. IG seems to have pulled one for families of people who have died right after getting the vaccine. If you don’t believe this is all hush hush and that there is many side effects from the vaccine then you are drinking the Fauci kool aid.

How are side effects of the vaccine more well known and documented when it’s only been available to most of the public for about 3-4 months?

Why? You don't seem to listen to anyone who has had a loved one die from COVID or been seriously ill from it. You refuse to believe that many, many young and healthy people have died of COVID.

Because no one has a clue and some people are just ok with that as they won’t question things.
I’d like to know before I inject this “proven” brand new vaccine into my body and possible getting sicker than if I had this virus. It’s a real question that I’ve never gotten an answer to. Just called selfish bc I question it.
You aren't alone. I am still not on board with getting it. People seem to get COVID but make a recovery unlike last year where it was almost a death sentence. I still don't feel like the vaccine has been out long enough to determine really the long term benefits of getting it. And if it was "PROVEN" then how come they are all in emergency use approval.?

The reality of it is, it was never a death sentence. Yes, more people died of it last year than now due to them knowing more about treating it etc but even then, if you look at the true statistics it wasn't even close to an automatic death sentence even in the early days. Ebola- that's an infectious disease I'd consider a death sentence. But back to this- I'm in no rush to run out and get this vaccine yet. I'm ok with a wait and see approach for myself personally. But everyone has to make that decision for themselves.

Looking back at past viruses that have hit humanity for the first time, a virus loses its strength as time progresses and as more people get it. Viruses tend to behave that way. The more people that get the virus, the less aggressive it becomes due to build up of natural herd immunity. So in theory covid should also behave the same way, and considering it’s been more than a year, I can see how more people that catch the virus will recover better and faster.

They are in emergency use because you need data for a specific length of time for FDA approval. Pfizer now has enough data and is submitting for full approval.
