vacuum cleaners

right now i have a dyson, but it is so loud and i am just ready for a new one

can anyone recommend a good vacuum cleaner that is not too crazy loud on wood floors, the cleaning lady always does the floors right after i put my girls down for a nap

eta i want one thats good for the floors but we also have a couple of area rugs

I recommend the original electrolux canister vacuum. Not the electrolux you get in the stores, the one you can only get thru an electrolux store. It has several attachments and the one for the wood floors is great.

thank you, i was thinking about an electrolux, i never realized you should buy them at the electrolux store not any store like sears or best buy

my MIL has this one. she's had it for like 20 years or something. still going strong.

i am looking into getting a new vacuum too and might splurge on a miele. they are canisters, great for hardwoods and carpets and get great reviews. they are a bit $$ but last a long time. i love that most of their models have enclosed systems so they are great for those with allergies. electrolux canisters might offer that as well.

Just got the high end version of electrolux oxygen canister. Retail is $499. Very quiet on hard wood floors. Ive had it for 2 wks now, works great, just still getting used to a canister
