venting about my own stupidity

yeah, i'm requesting a do-over today. my personality is that i like to joke around with everyone, i'd like to think i have a good natured sense of humor, but some people may not share that or not be in the mood. sigh

my cube is right next to the staircase, and often people are out of breath when they walk up. today, one of the admins (older lady, I have a cordial relationship with her) she comes up huffing. Ironically just at that moment i'm working on a powerpoint on the benefits of daily exercise, and the slide was on my screen. I JOKINGLY said "you should come to this presentation!"chuckle chuckle. she just gave me a look and said 'excuse me?'. I said "i need it too" chuckle chuckle (thinking she was joking right back!) but i guess she wasnt and she just walked off, i heard her say 'and my back is killing me".

she had a big meeting 20 min later so i'm sure she was stressed and didn't appreciate my stupid comment.

i often say stupid things i later regret. I wish i had like a taser attached to me so that whenever i'm about to say something i'll regret, it shocks me into shutting my trap

i'm same way
i say things when i'm kidding and a lot of times its not perceived that way

I would say something to her. I would say that you were joking & you realized that not everyone has the same sense of humor, that you didn't mean to cause her addition stress.

I'm sure it would go a long way to acknowledgeit.

Also with the stairs, it sounds like everyone is getting their daily excercise.
