Verizon Fios

Verizon is running a special now:

$64.99 First 6 mos
$94.99 mos 7-12
Free DVR for 1 yr
free HBO/Cinemax for 30 days

For me...this translates into a $1019 savings for the year.

BUT...does anyone know what the monthly rate goes up to after the 12 mos is up???

I'm actually cancelling my FIOS. We got it in July and Optimum is going to buy out the contract.

That $94.99 quickly turned into $145 for me. We don't have the DVR- we got free phone instead (so the $145 doesn't include anything for the phone).

The only other "add ons" were HBO on Demand and a 2nd box.

Just the taxes and fees added another $17 to that $94.99

The one thing that did annoy me was that the installation guy put a big whole on the outside of my stucco house. Someone came back to fix it, but we don't have our computer where we want it because he couldn't wire it in that particular room.

And, the optimimum guy told me that Fios runs off of our electicity, so switching to Optimum should save us $10 per month on our electric bill. And, they don't charge anything for the 2nd box. So, with optimum, my $145 should drop down to $125.
