Very Pregnant Bridesmaid
Im going to be a bridesmaid 11 days before my EDD (granted DD doesnt decide to make an early debut).
We knew this from the start, so they ordered me a HUGE BM dress, like 4-5 sizes up plus xtra length. Now Im 6 mos pregnant and can still pull off pre-pregnancy clothes (Im inmaternity jeans and pants, but a lot of old tops still fit me, as well as non maternity tights). So either Im going to get HUGE in the next 3 months, or Im going to need a TON of alterations.
The shop where we ordered the dresses from has a TERRIBLE reputation for alterations, and it has been suggested that we use a different seamstress. But...the shop caps alterations.
Does anyone know a good, affordable, seamstress that has experience with pregnant BM fittings,or should I stay with the shop and take me chances...
In Suffolk County, preferably South Shore between Bayshore and Patchogue, but Im willing to travel a little if necessary!

You should tell people what area you are looking for.
With the alterations, I would wait until the last possible time (usually 2 weeks before) to get them done.

Re: Very Pregnant Bridesmaid
The BEST thing my MIL did was get the number of the seamstress who did my dress at the store I bought it from. She did my MOH dress for my best friend's wedding and my best friend's dress. Not sure about her experience with pregnancy, but she was phenomenal and fairly priced. She lives around the William Floyd Pkwy. FM me if you want her info!

Re: Very Pregnant Bridesmaid
I agree that I would bring it to an outside seamstress.
I don't know any in Suffolk though.

Re: Very Pregnant Bridesmaid
I would bring it to an outside seamstress and I actually went to one in suffolk (and I live in Westchester County) for my wedding dress and I just checked on liweddings to see if i notebooked anything about where do get alterations and i can't find it. I do know that she was very awesome and highly recommended and affordable.
On another note - my countup at LIweddings says I have been married 1495 days.

Re: Very Pregnant Bridesmaid
I actually was able to find the place by looking at an old credit card statement.
I used Bridal Elegance in Dix Hills for my wedding dress alterations. I had an awesome experience there. They are (or were) a vendor on LI Weddings.
