very serious question.....about pie pops!
so i made apple pie pops for the first time last night. i followed the directions on the web.
but....my lollipop sticks burned! wth!!!
actually, only half of them burned. i made a bunch of pops so i had trays on the top and bottom shelf. all the sticks on the bottom shelf burnt.
what did i do wrong??? DH was NOT very happy as the smoke alarm in our apartment kept going BEEP BEEP BEEP....

i dont bake on the bottom shelf...too close to the burner on the bottom. Middle shelf only...unless I am going to rotate

Re: very serious question.....about pie pops!
Oh gosh...I'm getting scared...my recipe says to freeze the sticks around the cake, not to bake with them in it.
I'm hoping it's just because I'm doing pumpkin cheesecake cake pops and not apple pie, and not because I'm doing something radically wrong!
Sorry that the lolipop sticks got burned!

No, you're doing it right. Pie pops are a totally different ball game.
Yupp, it was just too close to the burner. I usually have them on the middle rack for about 15 minutes and it's perfect- no sticks or pies are burnt.

I used wooden sticks and soaked them before I used them for good measure.

Re: very serious question.....about pie pops!
FYI Kohl's sells a pie pop maker machine. Not sure if it's easier, but saw it the other day.
