I agree. You can tell by the way the girl is talking that she is out to "get" her. What an a hole.

I agree. I also feel its not fair to pin her as a role model to 12 year old girls when she has since essentially grown up. She cant stay 12 forever.

I read something just recently where she said something to the effect of, I'm far from a role model, Do not look to me as one....
She can say that all she wants, but girls are still going to look up to her. But she's 18 now so Disney probably doesn't want anything to do with her.
I guess Disney is like Menudo LOL

She's not a role model, the quicker parents/kids realize that, the better...pick some real role models
with that said
I don't feel bad for her one bit...she chose this lifestyle...and no one held a gun to her head to get high, she chose to, she could have easily said no.

COMPLETELY agree. My kids like a lot of different celebrities and as a parent it is my responsibility to make sure they know that the folks they look up to are just human beings and are capable of mistakes, errors in judgment and just plain stupidity. We don't know these folks 'in real life'.

I don't feel 'bad' that she was caught smoking but I do kind of feel uncomfortable for her. Every mistake and stupid thing she does (and she's a human so she's gonna do a LOT) is going to be held up for public scrutiny. She's going to forever be called a hero or a villain for making very human choices. I know she gets the fame and the money to go with that.. but I still wonder if she'd choose it all over again.

I haven't either- but most people I know have. I could really care less what she does. I feel kinda bad- but not really.

I bet she would..
She knew she was being videotaped - if she cared that much about her reputation as a role model (which from what i gather, she doesn't) then she would've made whomever was taping her stop before doing anything illegal like that.
I remember when i was underage and doing not so smart things, we NEVER did them if there were cameras around.
Look, she was 'created' into a star by Disney, her parents whatever - they all took a kid and molded her into this super celebrity and now that she's gotten older and wants to make her own choices, she's doing it in a spotlight. Is that sad? yes, but i'm sure she wouldn't trade it to be a regular kid.
She'll either go the route of making smart decisions and stay out of the tabloids (there are celebrities that do this) or she'll end up like Lindsay Lohan and all the other starlets that don't know what else to do with themselves other than snort their earnings up their nose
