Virus going around?

Sorry, this is going to be a little TMI...

Last week my BF got a bit of a stomach virus and it lasted quite a few days, well now I have it and have to go to the bathroom (#2) 4 or 5 times a day...

Does anyone know if something is going around? I have taken 3 doses of Pepto Max and can only have one more today and it's still pretty much the same.

I want to avoid the doctor's office because last time I went when I didn't have a cold, I got bronchitis from someone there.

I have a terrible immune system-and am really susceptible to respiratory infections. Three years ago I went to the doctor for a sprain, waited 2 hours in the waiting room, and wound up with horrible bronchitis--that kept coming back! I had bronchitis that year 5 times. So if I'm not really sick I try to avoid going. They should have a sick room and a well room, like pediatricians do!

Anyway, I have felt like this since Sunday... I know, it's probably time to make an appt. Especially since I have to go back to school soon (I'm a teacher.)

that's a long time to wait for a doc in the waiting room. Maybe you need another doc?

I also recommend getting Align. It's a probiotic and good for the intestines. It balances the good bacteria and the bad.

It's available in any drug store. I go to Harmon for mine and I use the 20% coupon.

I hope you feel better soon.

Ask your doc about B vitamins. They are good for the immune system as well as Omega 3s.

I am very much like you.... I am afraid of going to the dr and leaving with more than I came with! I have a TERRIBLE immune system (and am a teacher as well, which is a nasty combo, especially in the winter when all the kids are sick!!)

Anyway, I have found that often if I don't think I am sick enough to warrant taking the trip to his office, I call the dr and leave a message for him to call me back. Usually he will have advice over the phone for remedies I can try before coming in..... You may as well give that a try..... save yourself the hassle, and copay!

Thank you so much, ladies... I started a multivitamin and am much better now... (I can actually leave the house, woohoo!)

I'm still a little wary of eating regular food, but little by little I'm getting there.

I would slowly introduce foods like plain chicken and rice..... and work your way up from there!
