Vitafusion PreNatal Gummy Vitamins
Does anyone take this? I saw a post a while ago that someone took it and wanted to know if anyone else uses it. Is it as good as other prenatal vitamins? The label says DHA, Folic Acid and Multivitamin and is a source of vitamins A,C, and D.

Re: Vitafusion PreNatal Gummy Vitamins
I was considering taking these but then I read a lot of reviews that said stuff like this:
"The three essential vitamins/minerals necessary for pregnant and lactating women are: FOLIC ACID (recommended daily value of 1,000 mcg by the Mayo Clinic,) IRON (recommended daily value of 27 mg by the Mayo Clinic) and OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS (of which DHA is one of) (recommended daily value of 250mg by the Mayo Clinic). In addition, CALCIUM is a needed nutrient for pregnant and nursing mothers, which the Mayo Clinic suggests 1,000mg daily value.
These "prental" gummy vitamins contain NO Calcium and NO Iron! In addition, they contain only 65mg of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, a significantly lower amount than recommended."
and this:
"They taste fine but when I looked at the ingredients, each dose contains 4000 IU of Vitamin A in the form of retinyl palmitate. That's pre-formed Vitamin A and the recommended maximum intake for a pregnant woman is 2500 IU. Pre-formed Vitamin A metabolites such as retinyl palmitate are converted into retinol, which you are supposed to avoid when you are pregnant because it can lead to birth defects. Prenatal vitamins should only contain Vitamin A in the form of beta-carotene, if at all. Pregnant women should NOT be taking this. "
so needless to say, I opted for a different vitamin. HTH!
sorry for the long post!

Re: Vitafusion PreNatal Gummy Vitamins
i'm on one a day women's prenatals.
I was originally going to buy the gummies, but my teeth have been very sensitive since my dental surgery, so I chose one a day instead.

I do theres no iron in it so it doesnt make me sick. If you do get pregnant you will need to take extra follic acid because they only have 400 mg in it (the over the counter limit), I was told to just take an extra follic acid pill when I do get prego.

They actually have 800mg of folic acid,i checked that before I started taking them and i just looked at the bottle to verify.

Re: Vitafusion PreNatal Gummy Vitamins
I take them. I used to take the One a Days but they started to get me really sick and I couldn't keep them down. I checked both bottles and OAD has more when it comes to DHA but Folic Acid is the same for both. I look forward to taking my prenatals now. They are yummy
