Want to double check my BABY REGISTRY for me?
HI ladies, so because of the worrisome news I got on saturday I have been trying to keep my mind off of things. SOOOo, I have been updating my registry and I need to finalize it soon because Im sending out my invites in about 2 weeks.
Does anyone want to look at my registry and see if Im missing any obvious essentials? I would really appreciate it since Im a first time mom and have no on else to check this stuff for me lol.
Registered @ BRU and my name is Dalia Dimian.
ETA: we'll be in a 2BR apt. so some things I thought were unecessary like a pack n'play. But correct me if im wrong!

Re: Want to double check my BABY REGISTRY for me?
I would say maybe a bouncy seat, crib sheets, activity mat, hooded towels, wash cloths, a bath & lotion set, extra base for the car seat if you are using two cars.

Re: Want to double check my BABY REGISTRY for me?
I would add more hooded towels
I would reconsider the fleece swaddle me's, assuming you're due within the next couple of months because they'll be too heavy in the warmer months. Look for the cotton ones, they have them!
I would also add sleep sacks in medium and large, for when you aren't swaddling anymore but before you're ready to use a blanket. I found these were really difficult to find in the larger sizes when I needed them.
You have no bottles on there at all; no pacifiers either - almost nothing for feeding in the beginning.
If you think you are going to try nursing you might want to put a nursing cover on there... and a breast pump, but I know some ladies don't feel comfortable. I still say put it on anyway - worst case is that no one buys it.
People tend to live by the pack n play or never use it at all. I live by it, so I'd say put one on there, plus a couple of sheets.
Extra cover for the boppy pillow.
Bouncy seat.
Baby Bjorn or other carrier if you plan to wear the baby at all - I found it really helpful for doing laundry while I was on maternity leave. DD slept peacefully and I had my hands free to fold clothes (I live in an apartment building so the laundry room is downstairs).
Cloth diapers are THE BEST for catching spit up. THE BEST. I was at a girlfriend's house one day and forgot to bring one and wound up going through at least 3 bibs. One cloth diaper would have done the trick.

OMG, thank you so much!! I'm due August 29th. So Ill switch out one of the swaddlers for a cotton one.
Also, I don't have bottles on there yet because IM LOSTTTTTTT LOL. I plan to breastfeed, so if you could rec. a brand that would be awesome!
Also, I forgot about a carrier... thanks for reminding me!

Bottles are tricky. I tried 3 different brands before finding one that worked for us. I'd recommend registering for a starter kit or two so you have them on hand to try out.
I started with Dr. Browns, switched to Avent and then ended up with Born Free.
Dr. Browns were fine except they have too many parts to clean. My DD took in too much air with the Avent, which I think is unusual because everyone else I know who used them loved them. The Born Free worked out great for us.

Re: Want to double check my BABY REGISTRY for me?
I agree about the fleece swaddle me's and the sleep sacks.
They have cotton ones, or you can go for the Halo Sleepsack swaddlers that come in cotton. The swaddle piece removes to become just a sleepsack so it has dual purpose and they're nice and light weight. I found DD couldn't wiggle out of them as easily as the swaddle mes.
I am also in a 2br apt and the monitor was a waste for us. We could hear her just plenty since our apt is 1 level LOL
We've used our pack and play once or twice when we have gone away, but I would go for a cheapie less than 75 one for travel if you desire.
Agree that a bouncy seat is a life saver!!!! We were in an apt too and we got a swing that had a removable seat to save space, but it didn't vibrate, just rocked.
For bottles and binkies, I didn't register for any except a small variety pack of Playtex drop ins with DD and it really came down to trial and error. Thankfully she liked the playtex but at first we used the evenflo small plastic bottles with the teensy nipples for my pumped milk. Same with the binkies. We got 2 mam and 2 nuks. She liked the nuks. Those I would try to have a couple on hand for when he/she comes home but not go overboard.

Re: Want to double check my BABY REGISTRY for me?
I'd say a bouncy seat (this will go off your registry fast because it is in the right price-range for someone to buy).
Extra bed-sheets.
A sheet-saver (so that you don't have to change the whole sheet if diaper leaks a bit).
If you need extra stuff, some toys (plastic keys, teether). These are GONE in the first week off my registry. The person who bought them actually went to the store (they were not-online).
A rack to dry bottles (no matter what you use).
A booster seat (think portable).
Nipple pads & cream. (recommended after a friend saw my registry).
Safety items: do you need gates? How about socket-plugs?

Re: Want to double check my BABY REGISTRY for me?
Extra car seat base for the infant seat.
If you are going back to work, or in general I would recommend the double pump vs. the single pump, you will be pumping for 2X the time you need to verses doing both at once.
I would get other bottles besides glass, BPA free plastic ones, and I recommend Dr. Brown's, I BF my DD.
That tub got great reviews, but what are you going to put DC in after she grows out of it? Maybe put a bigger tub on there, or get rid of the one you have and put a bigger one on there.
more hooded towels
Bibs! Esp the plastic ones for when DD gets bigger.
Also the cloth diapers blanket thingies for spit up.
Teethers! Rattles, baby toys,
Toys to put on the car seat handle
Something for nighttime, music noise machine, etc.
Safety supplies ( though you can get it later)
Bottle Drying rack
Bottle warmer.

Re: Want to double check my BABY REGISTRY for me?
I would add some Bobby Pillow covers and maybe a few more changing pad covers.
My SIL said extras of these are essential.
