Was just told of our maternity policy...
They didn't HAVE one since no other woman has been preggo so they made one up!
I get 6 weeks fully paid and then I can use vacation time if I want to take more. So I will be using 10 vacation days out of the 42 that I have banked - bringing my maternity leave up to 8 weeks. For a small private company of about 25 employees I thought that was more than fair. Phew, what a relief!

FL doesnt have a maternity leave. I can take up to 12 weeks wtih FMLA unpaid. I do have short term disability and that will cover me getting paid. So I'll have up to 12 weeks short term disability and FMLA.

 that's awesome- I get 6 weeks at 60% only because it's part of supplemental coverage through our medical plan!

That's great... you could be like me with no maternity policy because I'm a per diam substitute teacher so my leave is just telling them I am not available from this time to this time and not get paid for even one minute of the time

You can apply for NYS disability. It's not much $34 a day, but at least it's something.

Wow, that is flippin SWEET!!!! I get crapola. I get short term disability ($170/per week) for 6 weeks and then FMLA so 6 more weeks with no paycheck. Plus, I heard from people here that you don't even receive the disability until the end of maternity leave in 1 lump sum. Boooo.
