DH brought home those blue disposable bed pads from the hospital. Of course the night my water broke I didn't have one on the bed. I heard and felt a pop. I quickly jumped out of bed and gushed on the floor in my slippers! and left some quarter size spots on my bed. I'll never forget it! Good Luck!

Oh, and didn't ruin the mattress at all.
This was exactly my experience with #1. There was no water on my sheets at all. Once I got to the toilet it was like Niagara Falls. In the car I used a plastic bag and stuffed a bunch of old towels in my pants lol.
This happened to me too...I heard the pop and walked over to the bathroom and it gushed out...I got up to tell DH and walked back into the bathroom where I had another gush. I used a heavy maxi pad and towel for my trip to the hospital.
