We almost got into a horrible accident yesterday
On our way home from a BBQ. The light was green as we approached a major, major intersection, but just as we were about to turn onto the road, I hear DH say "oh sh!t", and slammed on the breaks. A car goes flying by us, going, at least 50mph. I'd venture to say, he or she was drunk and ran right through the red light.
My heart has been in my throat ever since, thinking of what would have happened if that mother f**ker hit us. Just once little second made the difference between going home and settling in for the night, or getting hit on the passenger side, by a car going 50mph, and god knows what happening. I just keep thinking what would have happened to Alex???
I wanted to catch up to the guy and write down the license and report it, but he was so damn fast, we couldn't even keep up. Not to mention we were all shell shocked...
So, ladies, if you're out driving today, please pay extra careful attention and be careful!

 That is so scary!!! I hate these idiot drivers more then anything. When I see them now - I can't help but lose it with them. It's a whole new world of driving when you have your child in the car with you!

That is so scary. My ds can get his permit next year. Im always teaching him about defensive driving. Its very scary out there.

thank goodness your DH reacted like he did!!! Incidents like this seem to happen too often and I am constantly haunted by the "what ifs...? Glad you are all ok!

 I was driving home last night and noticed a lot of speeding and what I would guess were drunk drivers... I just took it nice and easy in the slow lane - but yes, everyone be careful! glad nothing happened!

It is a amazing how a few seconds make all the difference. I was in a similar situation where someone blew a red light and if I had put my foot on the gas 2 seconds earlier he would have hit me and DD. I am glad your family is ok!

This happened to DD and I on Friday at a major intersection on Hempstead Turnpike. I was first in light to cross over and out of nowhere, this guy came speeding through the red light and would have hit DD's side.  Honestly...I haven't been right since. I'm too afraid to drive.

I'm very thankful you all were able to avoid the accident. That must have really scary.
A friend of mine wasn't so lucky about 2-3 weeks ago. A car ran the red light and hit her DS's door and then spun them into another car. Luckily they were not seriously injured but their car was totaled. People are just too much in a hurry and don't care about anyone but themselves. Too many people can't even drive when they are sober but the holidays seems to bring out all the crazy drivers.

Thank God your ok. I always wish that a cop would be in the right place at the right time to catch some of these azzholes. Seems like all to often they get away with driving like complete idiots!!
