we are booked! Disney with questions
and the countdown begins! These are our first trips as dvc memebers
We booked a 5 day trip with our home resort blt in sept and booked a week at boardwalk villas in december!!!!
We got a lake view studio at blt. Are there any rooms that we should request (if that can even be done)
and we got a preferred view 1bdrm at boardwalk in december. (would have liked the standardview but they didnt have it available) is there any room that we should request there as well?
I did so much research on blt so i feel like i already know about it but dont know much about boardwalk except it looks beautiful as well!
I am so excited and would love any type of feedback on the two resorts - would we be able to use the pools in dec (or would it be too cold)?
TIA!!!!

Re: we are booked! Disney with questions
For the Boardwalk - try to request a room close to the elevators. The resort is very spread out and it can be quite a long walk from the elevator to your room - especially after a long day in the parks or with little ones. DH and I sometimes have a hard time with it!
You should call member services now and request the room so they have it on record.
For BLT since you have a lakeview room, ask for a room high up. You will be able to the electrical water float parade from your room and see over to Fort Wilderness. It's also less buggy and you wont hear any noise from the main Contemporary pool.
Again, call member services now and request the room so it's on record.
The weather in December can go either way. However, the pools in Disney are heated year-round so theoretically you can always go in them - it's freezing when you get out you have to worry about
Enjoy! And as we DVC membes say "Welcome Home"

I have never shipped anything down there, but I know people who use Owners Locker. Never had a glitch.
I also know people who say OL isn't worth the money and they just ship everything via UPS directly to the resort themselves.

Re: we are booked! Disney with questions
We shipped a box down last year without a problem. Unfortunately we had a death in the family 3 days before our trip and had to cancel. Disney was wonderful with getting our box back to us.

Re: we are booked! Disney with questions
You can only use UPS/Fed Ex type mailing. The USPS will not deliver to guest at each resort.
You might want to consider gardengrocer.com They have diapers, milk, etc... we ordered from them. It's like peapod.

Re: we are booked! Disney with questions
Haven't stayed at either, but our favorite thing is Chip & Dale's campfire over at the Fort Wilderness campgrounds. It's an easy boat ride from the Magic Kingdom. You can make smores over the fire, they have a singalong, pictures with Chip & Dale, and a movie. Best of all it's free! You do have to pay for the roasting sticks .50, and the smores supplies if you want smores. Just as easy to bring your own though!
