We are going to try to get Lucas to sleep in his crib tonight **UPDATED**

I feel like I get no sleep at night with him in the bassinet because I wake up to every noise he makes. He wakes up a few times throughout the night (besides just when he's hungry) and grunts a ton and then i've been rolling the bassinet back and forth to get him to go back to sleep. So we are going to attempt to get Lucas to sleep in his crib for the first time tonight to see what happens and see if maybe he will sleep more or if anything- see if I can sleep a little more and not wake up to every little noise..wish me luck!!!

(He'll be 6 weeks on Tuesday)

****************** U P D A T E D *****************

He isn't ready for the crib..he slept horrible. Every other minute he would start fussing (i have him in the miracle blanket) and then knock out his pacifier, then he would start screaming. We would get up, put it back in, wait until he relaxed and looked like he fell back asleep and then lay back down in bed and right when we would start to fall back to sleep he would do the same thing again ugh...after getting no sleep halfway through the night we put him back in his bassinet. I rolled him back and forth in it, and he finally fell asleep. But between his noises and the pacifier falling out constantly I got no sleep..im exhausted!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him to sleep longer?

Ugh...the grunting, I know all about it!!! Chat Icon We call DS Mr. Grunty. He does it almost constantly in his sleep. For the first 5 weeks I kept thinking it was a hunger cue. Last week I began accepting that that's what he does in his sleep and I've slept alot better since then. But...I'm still aware of it ALL night. Can't wait for a full nights sleep. Good Luck to you...I hope you and your DS have sweet dreams tonight.

We put Travis in his crib around 8 weeks, and we both sleep much better.

hahaha thanks! I cant wait for a full night also! But Id even settle for him waking up every 3 hours, eating and going back to sleep...its the in between grunting/noises that wake me up constantly through the night thats killing me haha

I was the same way with the constant noises so we moved her at 8 weeks (before that she never slept at night anyway haha) and I was MUCH happier. Actually, so was she. She started sleeping through the night right not long after that.

Good luck! DS is 8 weeks old and sleeps next to me in his bouncy seat b/c of his reflux. I wake up every time he makes a noise I cant wait to get him in his crib.

We have JT in the bassinet in his room for about 2 weeks and we are sleeping better too. He still gets up every couple of hours but its a huge difference.

Jenise what if you try keeping him in the bassinet but put it in his room. Sometimes they still need the closeness/snug feeling they get from being in something smaller (i.e. the bassinet). If that works then once he gets used to you not being right next to him then try and transition him to the crib.

Gavin is 6 wks, and just started sleeping for 5-6 hour stretches. I thought it was a fluke, but it has been for the past week or so. I started feeding him larger amounts, less times per day...

he now gets 5 oz, every 4 hours or so, and he is sleeping wayyyyy better!

also, i have slowly intoduced the crib with little naps here and there, so maybe he will be better when he is in there for good...wishful thinking..lol

Thats a good idea! I will try that! I just hope he doesnt keep yelling bc of the pacifier

I would LOVE a 5-6hr stretch!!! hmmm I'll see if I can stretch out the feedings longer (he eats 4oz every 3 hours) by the time he eats, burps, grunts, drops his pacifier, rocking him back and forth in his bassinet- im lucky if I get an hour of sleep in between feedings

Jenise,, I started napping DS in his crib. He sometimes stays sometimes doesn't but just to get him used to it. I haven't transitioned him yet but soon. Good luck.

I'm doing the same as Linda. Trying to get him to nap in there first, which isn't working so well and DS is 11 weeks. (although he is sleeping in there right now...but it's only been 20 minutes Chat Icon )

also, DS grunts but I find that's how he puts himself to sleep, so while it may bother you...it may be helping him KWIM?
