Re: Wedding Gift-Last Minute

you have up to a yr to send a wedding gift, so maybe you can give them a card and then in a 1 month or so send them a gift.

I agree w/ many of the previous posters. If money is hard right now, send a gift in the mail a few days before the wedding or a few days after.

I rec'd a BEAUTIFUL Vera Wang vase from a friend and i LOVE LOVE LOVE it

ETA: here is the link. We rec'd the larger one. Its SO nice IRL

Re: Wedding Gift-Last Minute

I think a gift from the registry or a gc to where they are registered would be just fine. I soooo loved spending my GCs!!

Re: Wedding Gift-Last Minute

They were able to upgrade their wedding last minute to include the people they want there. They aren't expecting much in return.

I'm in the minority when it comes to weddings in this area. Before moving here I had NEVER heard of giving money for weddings. I'm from upstate and it is actually in poor taste to give money for a wedding. So this 'paying for your plate' thing just amazes me.

I'd give what I could afford off the registry.

Re: Wedding Gift-Last Minute

I am the exact situation. Friends of ours have huge a huge family so they could not invite from the friends list. Now that some of the grooms family can not make the trip from OOT they called us and a few others. The groom was very apologetic that this was such a late invite. We are thrilled that they thought to invite us and cannot wait to celebrate.

Unfortunatly we have not planned on this expense and will give what we can, I would like to give $250/$300 but will proabably settle on $200.

Thanks. Yes, all of the friends were invited last minute. Many of them already have prior plans though and are unable to go.

If they were any other couple, I would not go and would have felt like I was second best for getting invited so late.
