Re: wedding gift question..
Look on the Registry to see if they had anything left.
Give what you can afford!

Re: wedding gift question..
Hey, I got married there!
Honestly if I knew what kind of situation my friends were in I wouldn't and didn't care what they gave me. So give what you can afford.

Re: wedding gift question..
I dont think it matters where it is. If I ever go to a wedding at Oheka, there is no way I am covering my plate.
give what you can afford. The couple should only care that you are there at not waht is in your envelope, and if they do care, thats their problem

Re: wedding gift question..
Honestly, I am a firm beleiver in giving what you can afford and I do NOT take into account the place where the wedding is at when I give me gift. If I have one friend getting married at the Ritz Carlton and another friend getting married in their backyard, I am giving them the same gift!
I think a gift between $200 and $250 is fine. But if you can't afford that, then you give what you can afford

Re: wedding gift question..
first of all- i know about being broke! so
give what you can afford - i don't agree with "minimum $250" or $200, whatever - you aren't being invited for your gift, you are being invited for your presence. give what you can - even if it's JUST a card - and if the married couple has a problem with that, then that's their issue, not yours. some people are greedy, some are very understanding, but you have to live your life without worrying about *insulting* people by not giving a big enough gift.

Re: wedding gift question..
I understand your dilema. When planning my wedding 2 years ago, we looked at Lands End so I know it's pretty expensive per plate. But I honestly think you should just give what you can afford. We had people who gave us very generous gifts and some not as generous. In the end, we were just happy that everyone came and shared our day with us.
