Wedding Gift Question
DH and I were married last year. A colleague/friend of mine came with her BF and gave us a monetary gift. They are getting married this year in Hunter Mountain on a Sunday night. DH and I are staying for the night. I was going to give the same amount she gave to me, but a friend told me that because her wedding is a "destination" I do not have to give as much.
What do you think?

Re: Wedding Gift Question
If you can afford it, I would give the gift you were originally planning ...
Did she have to travel to your wedding as well?

That's what I was thinking, I was just curious. She didn't have to travel for my wedding.

Re: Wedding Gift Question
If you were going to give it anyway--and can afford it--I dont' see why you shouldn't give the same amount. I don't think you necessarily HAVE to give less because its a "destination wedding" or "OOT wedding".
now if money was tight and you had to spend more than you normally would, then i could understand giving a little less. but i say give what you felt comfortable with giving.
