Re: Wedding "price per person" poll.

I think it's expensive, but unfortunately average around here. I paid about half that for a Sunday night in November 2004. So much of it depends on the location and the season.

Re: Wedding "price per person" poll.

That's a total bargain... That was the going rate where I got married three years ago on a Saturday night. Since then their prices have increased. I was able to get a few bux knocked off per person just because I worked there for six years! Let me tell ya, it was worth every penny!!!

I'd say Bargain, but it also depends on where and when (season).

Re: Wedding "price per person" poll.

it totally depends on the season.

if its high season (summer, october) than that is a fair price. if its in the off season, than its too high.

and this is why im getting married on a sunday. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks ladies. She'll be happy to know most of you think it's an average price. She's booked for October 20th.

Re: Wedding "price per person" poll.

Mine was a bargain.... we wanted a low cost wedding because my parents offered us the money that they would have spent on a super expensive wedding for our house

Re: Wedding "price per person" poll.

I think it's expensive, but not outrageous for and LI wedding. Including tax & tip, we paid about $110/head in the fall of last year.

I say it's expensive - I think you can get a nice Saturday night wedding for less than that - but really I am not sure!

Posted by mommy2bellabean

I got married in March of '03 at Fox Hollow and I paid less than half that...

WOW! You got a deal! That's great!

to clarify if I misspoke...it was a Friday night at the Fox Hollow and we paid 55 a head Chat Icon...we got married on March 14th 2003, we almost booked November 14th 2003, another Friday night, for 99 a head....DH offhandedly asked how much it would cost to get married in the winter. This was October of 2002 (so I basically planned my wedding in 5 months and saved almost 15k)

I voted expensive but what do I know? I got married in Minneapolis, MN for under $50/pp. And we had a great space, a band, free drinks and delicious food (two choices) and cake (two choices)!

Re: Wedding "price per person" poll.

considering i'm paying more for that on a sunday night i would say that's a deal and a half!!! Chat Icon of course this all depends on where it is b/c if it is a VFW hall then not so much lol but if it's a nice wedding hall- good deal Chat Icon ETA: it also depends on the month/time of year the wedding is taking place.

Re: Wedding "price per person" poll.

I got Married in June 06 at the Hamlet wind watch in Hauppauge and paid $100 pp tax and tip included. That was for a Sunday night. I think it was $115pp on a Saturday night. I am sure the price went up a little since then.

I went to over 20 halls when looking, and I found quite a few that would be cheaper then $140pp on a Saturday.
Yes, I did visit a few that where way over $140pp. It is LI, everything is expensive.

Re: Wedding "price per person" poll.

For what month? Depending on the month, I'd say that it's a DECENT price.
