Wedding Registry/stuff for house question
HI! Our wedding is in July and we just closed on our house.
i went to BBB last night with my mom and sister to register and i think we did a pretty good job. If you have a few minutes can you please check my registry and let me know if there is anything that we missed or anything you registered for that you can suggest.
we already have: a dyson keurig margaritaville machine espresso/coffee pot crock pot bedding for master bedroom shower curtain
the registry # is 11455352
LINK to registry
Our house is a 3 bedroom high ranch. one room will be a guest room and the other an office. i need to find bedding for the guest room but i didnt see anything i liked at BBB last night. looking for a black coverlet. (just painted 3 walls BM white dove and accent wall with bed on it is BM Dinner Party - have black and white damask lamps for night stands, going to add black and white funky pattern pillows on the bed)
we also have a nice yard with a pool and we like to entertain. a living room upstairs and a "man cave" den down stairs. 1 1/2 baths
thank you soooo much, registering is the worst. i just want to make sure i have everything and then never look at it again!!!!!
ETA: or if there is anything on there that you think is a total waste based on your registering experience please let me know!
TIA!!

dish rack to dry th dishes? i didn't see one on there, they have a great one that folds away so you don't have to leave it out. Also, an ironing board?
I might have missed both of them if they didn't have a picture

I might have missed these but a toaster oven, knives (block)? Also Olga makes a set of plastic mixing bowls that are all different sizes & sit inside one another. They are awesome. I made add a few different type of serving platter, trays, baskets. You can never have enough if you plan to entertain/host holidays. Kitchen aid mixer, or hand mixer. Food processor.

The registry looks good!
For the guest room check out Target. I was able to get a black and white set for my smaller guest room/office. It's so funny because it is the cheapest bedding set in the house and the only one people ever comment on that they love.

Re: Wedding Registry/stuff for house question
I agree about adding more serveware - you can never have enough -- even just plain white platters and bowls in different sizes.
I just realized yesterday that having 2 12-cup cupcake pans would have made my life a TON easier! I would add more baking sheets also. I use them for everything and I only saw one on there. A few more bath sheets (maybe 2 more)---- if you have a guest or if you need to replace one.
And personally I am a big fan of place settings for 12 ... especially the dinner plates, glasses, and flatware. Sometimes the dishwasher doesn't get run every day and they can really pile up fast.
I hope that helps.

I agree w/ everything here, and I personally did flatware for 16 (but everything else (dishes, glasses) for 12)!!!!!

Re: Wedding Registry/stuff for house question
You have a lot of glasses on there - I would only register for the Luna 16 pc glassware set. I would wait on the wine glasses/goblets/pitchers, etc - until you get a really good feel for your cabinet/storage space. The 6 qt beverage dispenser with stand is nice - but will stay in storage, kwim?
I received about 4 of them at my shower.
I would switch out the stainless mixing bowls for glass mixing bowls. That's just my personal preference though.
Now once you're done tweaking, NO PEEKING!!!

Re: Wedding Registry/stuff for house question
Here are my observations:
Your dinnerware I have the same one and love it! Get an extra set just in case! I already broke a coffee mug
have the wine preserver and I love it!!
The ice shot glasses I have too and are a BAD idea! I made them for the housewarming party and by the time everyone got a shot glass, they started to melt and the liquor was all over my floor. They are good if you like to do Irish carbombs or any of the bomb shots!
Do you already have a corkscrew? I might have missed it. If not dont add the OXO one..it cracked on me after like 3 bottles of wine! Then the 4th bottle the screw actually broke off on a cork!!!

Re: Wedding Registry/stuff for house question
Maybe add some outdoor dining stuff - you will probably do a lot of outdoor entertaining with the pool
link
Also, I didn't see any BBQ tools.
The one thing that I have that I use on an almost daily basis is one of those fold up baskets. I think that they would come in extremely handy in a high ranch (I would probably get one to keep on each floor) so that you can bring loads of stuff up and down at a time.

Re: Wedding Registry/stuff for house question
Thank You everyone soooooo much for all the suggestions!!! i definitely need to add some platters and large bowls! i have a giftcard to pier 1 so i was going to pick up a few different patterned platters and bowls o mix in with my neutral dishes.
i know i have a lot of glasses on there.. i have this weird thing with glasses, i like to have lots of them, i even swipe them from bars if theyre cool.
my mom told me not to register for the kitchenaid mixer. maybeee shes gonna get it for me. (RED ONE PLEASEEE)
as far as the wine opener, i have the one that stands on the counter, got it as a gift last year and LOVE it. i also have the small OXO one... i have to watch out for it! thanks for the heads up!
i realllllly appreciate all your help! thanks for taking the time!

I noticed that you have 4 16 pc sets of dinnerware. Do you really need 16 dinner plates?

We don't have a formal dining room either but, I registered for fine china anyway. I received 12 settings and I do use them for holidays. If I were you I would register for them anyway just so you have them. JMO.

Re: Wedding Registry/stuff for house question
Only thing I can think of is a garbage can - if you want one of those nice stainless ones...if you are getting a plastic one and keeping under sink or in pantry than maybe don't worry about it.
how many people are you expecting at your shower?

I disagree
I didn't register for it b/c I inherited it, but all of my friends registered for the good stuff and only got one or two place settings and either returned them or had to chase down the sets themselves

same here, my mother has a set and my FMIL has 3! so im sure somewhere along the road i will have someones set. we got 6 set of china for our eparty (FMIL thought we wanted it and told her family) when i went to price out completing the set, and IF i were to have china i would want everything.. coffee and tea, milk and sugar serving bowls and platters, etc etc.. it was THOUSANDS of dollars! being that we just bought a house and we have NOTHING, we figured there was more important things that we NEEDED and we didnt want to end up with all china and not the necessities.
