Weekend getaways with your little one - We decided! (update and some questions)
DH has a vacation coming up in early November and we want to go away. DS is 13 months and I dont really know where we can go. We would like to do a 3 day trip...
Any suggestions?
UPDATE: We were sure about Willow Valley until we saw how far it was and Andrew is still only 13 months so to travel 4 hrs for him to be in the pool with me holding him wasnt the best idea for us. So we decided on Mystic CT. I have always wanted to see the aquarium there anyway!
So any tips for me? Where to stay, eat, etc. Thanks, I appreciate it!

Our 1st trip was Lancaster and it was quite kid friendly and relaxing. Mystic also looks like fun!

We stayed at the Hyatt Place in Mystic last April. It's a very nice modern hotel. I got a really inexpensive rate on Hotwire ($60 something dollars). The rooms are HUGE and they offer a pack n play which you will have no problem fitting in there since there is a living area and a sleeping area. There is a fridge in the room as well as a sink.
It's close to the Aquarium and the Seaport and 2 blocks from Old Mystick Village (shopping). You can buy discounted tickets for both the seaport and the Aquarium at the desk there. The aquarium ticket gets you admission for 3 consecutive days. They just have you sign your ticket on your way out if you plan on returning.
We took the PJ Ferry then it was about an hour drive from the ferry dock to Mystic.
We ate at the Steak Loft which was nearby the hotel and it was awful. I don't recommend it at all. We ordered pizza from Mystic Pizza and it was yummy.
Have fun! We loved it there!

we made a stop-over (on the way to boston) with DS who is 12 months old about 3 weeks ago. we only had an hour or so there . Definately check out Mystic Pizza! touristy - but kid friendly and the pizza is surprisingly great! and they play the movie while you're eating, so its a bonus for you. walk down by the harbor - if you son is anything like mine, he will LOVE the ships :) and you'll loe the shops Aquarium is great!
try priceline for hotels - good deals in that area.
ENJOY! ITS A WONDERFUL FAMILY TRIP!
