Weekend Warrior Projects!

We made some more progress on our Nursery Nook today. (Before pics are in the album)..

It doesn't look like much but....

1) We hung, and hemmed the room divider

2) Hemmed the curtains.. Installed new double curtain rod for the valance.. when we receive our bedding (I peeked at my registry and it was bought!!Chat Icon Chat Icon ) I can't wait to see the valance and the crib and all the bedding and whatnot put together!)

3) Installed the high shelf.

4) Installed a new light fixture (MY GOD WHAT A FREAKING PAIN!) Chat Icon New light switch.. whole nine yards. (We now have a bunch of patchwork to do since DH and my Dad knocked a bunch of holes in the walls - project for a snow day tomorrowChat Icon )

We also hung new sheers in the Living room and fixed a piece of furniture in the bathroom.....

The dresser in these pictures isn't staying. Mommy need a new one. I just can't decide what to get. The place is were the dresser is where the crib is going.

THe crib is due this week.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Sooo here it is... (Daisy Mae wanted to be in the pictures.. she was trying to steal my snoogle!)

I added the bedding and crib so you can get an idea of how it will pull together.

oh Trish - it looks FANTASTIC!!! I LOVE the room divider curtain thingies! VERY pretty!!!!!

only question/concern...

are you going to get black out shades for that window? seeing it's right in the baby's line of sight - i'd be nervous about her waking at the CRACK of dawn because of the sun (and not just the normal, baby waking up ealry thing)...

We have great ones that we got at Lowes!!! They'll even cut them to size for you in the store!

Re: Weekend Warrior Projects!

That is an idea we are tossing around! We haven't decided yet. But, I think we need to. Lowes.. Were they pricey? I don't want to spend a fortune and I can hem them myself pretty easily.

How do they hang.. On a second rod? (or third.. since we already have a double rod for the valance)

The ones we have are on a bracket right in the window frame itself...but if this were OUR house and not a rental - we'd likely do them on the outside of the window (the inside allows a sliver of light to go RIGHT into my eyes in the morning)...

NOT EXPENSIVE AT ALL!!!! I want to say they were less than 25 dollars for both windows.

They are not something you can 'hem' yourself though - it's a 'spool' of shade...so you have to have them cut to size in the store...unless you have the type of tool required to cut them...

you're very welcome - we don't have these specific ones (they have differing levels of allowing the light in...from partial shade to BLACK OUT)...but this is close!

It really looks great! You've done so much with such a small amount of space!

THANKS! This wasn't our plan but, the economy had different idea for us and now we can't sell. DH has been so upset over it all so I made it my misson to make it as nice as possible. We do have the ability to split the back of the kitchen and make a small room one day.. But, I would rather do this for a while and see what happens with the economy. The house is better with only one bedroom, KWIM?

So, DH is so suprised with how it is coming along. He is getting into it now and being much less negative. Men have no vision!Chat Icon

I love how it feels like a different area in our room. Chat Icon
