Re: Weight crazed
I've struggled with weight since I was a teenager. I spent most of my teen age years and early 20's being overweight and unhappy.
A few years ago I decided that I wanted to eat better and work out to get healthy. I've gone up and down over the past few years and I have lost a lot of weight since becoming Vegan last October. I became Vegan for health reasons and have been receiving compliments ever since.
In addition to compliments, I have also been receiving criticism about my weight. Friends and family members have told me that I'm too skinny and frankly, I think that's so rude. Why is it ok to tell a thin person that they are too skinny, but not to tell an overweight person that they are fat?
I know that many negative comments come from a place of concern, but I am actually very healthy! Probably even healthier than those that question my Veganism.
So yeah, I am very weight and health conscious. I'm starting to see more people becoming more health conscious as well. I have found many Vegan options at my local grocery store and Vegan friendly restaurants (which I am very happy about )

I get such weird comments about being vegan- most people are supportive b/c of my health issues- I am type 1 diabetic- I found out last year-
but last night my 2 clients told me I will start to look old and get gray hair
doubt it- after 30 days as a vegan I have never felt better- my skin looks amazing - I haven't lost too much weight yet- b/c I was over doing it on fresh ground almond butter and then soy ice cream- but I cut that all out now and I am eating gluten free and mainly whole - real foods my stomach is almost flat after struggling for a year!

Re: Weight crazed
I wouldn't say I'm weight crazed, but I'm very into health and fitness. I eat very healthy and exercise regularly.
I personally think I'm in great shape and am very happy.
Other people however think I'm weight crazed by my lifestyle, but that's definitely not the case. It annoys me to no end. Why do people assume that because you workout you must be looking to lose weight. I hate how the two are associated like that. Sorry but I go to the gym for many other reasons and not one is weight loss. I'm happy at my current weight.

Re: Weight crazed
Coming from a family who mostly all struggle with their weight and having a lot of friends who are runners or gym rats like me, I think most people I am around are weight crazed. It's a common discussion whether it be talking to my sis about dieting or talking to a friend about the mileage they ran. I used to obsess a lot more but I have accepted exercise as just part of my day now, like brushing my teeth. I know I have the ability to become obsessive so I just try to live the healthiest I can and go with the flow.

Re: Weight crazed
For the most part I don't think I am weight crazed, but I have worked so hard the last 4 months to lose weight that I do focus a lot on what I eat and drink when I go out. What bothers me the most is when friends tell me "oh just get that" or "oh just have another drink" and then get annoyed when I say no, or when I tell them it's too many calories or whatever. Why do they care if I want to watch what I eat?
So far no one has made any "you're so thin" comments to me but if they did I hope I would be flattered, I don't know though - I think I have a lower opinion of how I used to look than anyone else.

Re: Weight crazed
Honestly - I don't own a scale. I don't know how much I weigh. I am more into being healthy and fit than weight. I know if I am generally eating well and working out, I am doing ok. If my pants started to get tight, I'd probably take that as an indication I'm doing something wrong.
