Just joined WW. I have joined before but it has been quite a while.
Please share your successful tips.
Low point snacks and lunchs would be a big help...

Re: Weight Watchers tips ..
I did it in the summer.
Grilling was a huge help for me. Grilled lots of chicken then had it with salad for lunch or dinner. Grilled shrimp and grilled pork chops for dinner.
Cold cuts for lunch. On light bread or rolled in lettuce.
Greek yogurt, ww string cheese (1pt), fruit, veggies and hummus for snacks. Popcorn too.
Breakfast I often had Cheerios with skim milk and blueberries/strawberries or oatmeal. I had the Special K flatbread sandwiches as a treat sometimes. Good luck!
I used my extra points for bbqs , dinners out and a nightly glass of wine.

Weight Watchers tips ..
i only remember one tip from my WW days that i still use.
if you have had good meals throughout the day but get "mentally hungry" after dinner... you know that time of day when you can ruin all your hard work... brush your teeth. go all out, brush, floss, use mouth wash.
this will help keep you from snacking when you shouldn't

Re: Weight Watchers tips ..
These are kind of general tips but:
1. Find ways to eat what you like. I am a big believer that you won't stick with a plan if you are not eating food you enjoy. So I think if you are a carb-a-holic, find ways to work it in. If you love to snack at night, leave points to work in a nightly snack! If you hate snacking on raw veggies, don't, and prepare your veggies another way. You get the idea!
2. I was always very precise with tracking at home (weighing food, looking everything up, etc.), but for the occasional meal out or party, I wouldn't worry about counting. I would just try to not go crazy, but I would enjoy/indulge! I always found some of my biggest weight losses were on weeks where I had a splurge or indulgence meal out, and stuck to the plan strictly the rest of the time. I think it helped shake things up a bit.
3. Make sure you eat all of your daily points, and don't be afraid to experiment with the extra weekly points. I always used almost all of them and consistently lost weight (plus, it made the eating plan more realistic for me).
4. Research interesting recipes on food blogs, websites, cookbooks, etc. It helps to keep it interesting, and I always lost more weight when I mixed it up rather than eating the same things every day.
5. Don't let yourself get too hungry. Have healthy snacks between meals so you can have portion control when you are eating.
I also find it helps to make some bigger batches of things on the weekend, so I have ready-made, healthy meals on busy days or nights. For me, I go off track if I am super hungry and there is nothing good to eat to keep me on plan. So I am making big batches of soup and stews, for example, that we can have for dinner and then I can eat for lunches and busy weeknight dinners. Or make a big batch of baked oatmeal or a baked frittata to be reheated in microwave for a hot breakfast on a busy morning.
Some go-to snacks: Fruit, cheese sticks, Greek yogurt, almonds, special K cracker chips with salsa, smoothies (in the summer), small cup of soup (winter), half of sandwich (e.g., peanut butter or lean turkey) on whole grain bread, hard boiled egg.
Good luck!

Re: Weight Watchers tips ..
I find that it helps to always have options in the house. Last night I cooked a few meals and soups for the week from the weight watchers online site. Knowing that I have things ready to eat helps me avoid eating my kid's foods. Same goes for snacks, have your options handy.
I find that if I plan out my eating for the day in the morning, sometimes even writing it down in advance, it helps.
Commit to going to the meeting once you find a good match in a leader for you. There were some weeks I would go to more than one meeting just because I didn't feel confident that I could make it through. Also, you will get a tip or two or a thought for the week that will stay with you after the meeting. Tracking and meetings are essential to the program.
Good luck! I was lifetime, gained weight and now am almost back to lifetime again. The program is great and works in a healthy way.
